Btw.. Which batt is better > Amaron or Bosch?

Amaron batteries are made in india. Bosch batteries are made in korea. Bosch is a german company and they make the starter motor and alternator components for most big automotive companies. The positive and negative terminals of amaron batteries rust over time, unlike bosch batteries. Even the hard polyethylene casing for bosch batteries are of better quality.

Amaron pro batteries do not have a vent tube on both ends. It was not designed with mercedes, bmw, jaguar, lamborghini and european cars in mind. These cars got a vent tube which has to be left disconnected if you use amaron.

I suggest not to waste your hard earned money on amaron, globatt, motolite or even oem toyota batteries from borneo. Not that bosch never fails, just that it is either same price or $10-20 more than amaron.

I have taken apart amaron batteries and was surprised at its cheap design. I only play with brands such as fiamm, bosch, varta for cars. For lorries, incoe is excellent quality for money. For motorcycles, i swear by yuasa only, even for a bmw bike.

Just to share with forummers here.... My batt dated dec 2013. About 1.5 yrs leow. So for a peace of mind, decided to change it together with my blown bulb. It's Amaron batt for a 2007 Honda Fit. I was charged $90 for the batt. 2 headlights halogen bulb and the 2 smaller bulbs aslo changed, as the previous owner mod to white light. Cost me $38 for the 4 bulbs. Batt and bulb everything done at $128. Pricing ok ya?

why do so many people still refer to battery as brand specific? it doesn't make sense to refer to a "Bosch battery", when there are several models by Bosch available to us, S3, S4, S5, HTSS, etc. all with different price points, different design, different power ratings, and potentially very different durability.

I've seen a table from a Bosch site that says the S3 is meant for pre-2000 cars. Unless that is what you're intending to buy it for, you should probably be looking at an S4 or preferably an S5 instead.

Amaron, globatt and motolite batteries are prone to sulphuric acid fume leakage. You wont see the liquid coming out but the fumes escape and manifest as the white powder around the red battery terminal. If u use these cheap brands, pls verify for yourself and see if i am correct.

tried Hitachi, Panasonic, Fiamm, Yuasa and Bosch... haven't try amaron.
Not all Bosch are from Germany.. only the higher end models i think.
Heard Varta now many from India also.

Currently on Yuasa Eco-R. Quite like it.
Cranking power is good.
Bosch is more for conti.
if I remember correctly, Porsche Cayman came stock with Fiamm

Correct Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini come stock with fiamm. But the local distributor is not pushing it. There are good reasons for this. Fiamm does not command a high volume here and their price is also high. The local market is price sensitive and it shows up with many of you buying bottom tier batteries from india, blangadesh, philipines and china.

Bosch is rather expensive now but they got JIS battery models for jap cars, 10 foot lorries all the way to 2000AH ones for prime movers and pleasure craft.

If u are on a tight budget and the car is getting scrapped or sold, a 42B20L is enough. Otherwise u can pay slightly more for a 55B24L. Price wise is best to ask when u r ready to buy.

Yes; you are very right about this.
Am quite shock to see this.

May I seek your advise with which brand & model to opt for?
If it convenient, mind stating the price(est); where can it be purchased at a reasonable price?
Btw my car only require 45Ah.

TIA

Energizer, Varta, Bosch never gave me problems. Fiamm is also good but JIS sizes are not available. Bosch and Varta have all sizes from JIS and DIN. ie jap, korean and conti cars, trucks all covered. Energizer mostly JIS and some DIN batteries for cars and 10ft lorries.

Unfortunately most workshops only carry those cheap brands because they dont like your car battery to work too well, and also because most customers are price sensitive and care little about battery brands.

I got my battery from puncturedtyre.com but they are a mobile service so it may cost $50 more than from a workshop. Autobacs has bosch batteries but it seems rather expensive. Of course the original car agents will stock branded batteries but most ppl wont like their prices and waiting time.
