May I seek your advise with which brand & model to opt for?
If it convenient, mind stating the price(est); where can it be purchased at a reasonable price?
Btw my car only require 45Ah.

If you know the stockist for your car model, can enquire if there is any OE brand of battery specific for your car.

I am driving a VW and there are OE batteries for my Golf. I got it from the stockist and replace it when it is due time or if battery died at my place. OE batteries may cost slightly cheaper than some other brands.

Else wise, if you are looking for brands, Varta or Bosch is good to go.

Energizer, Varta, Bosch never gave me problems. Fiamm is also good but JIS sizes are not available. Bosch and Varta have all sizes from JIS and DIN. ie jap, korean and conti cars, trucks all covered. Energizer mostly JIS and some DIN batteries for cars and 10ft lorries.

Unfortunately most workshops only carry those cheap brands because they dont like your car battery to work too well, and also because most customers are price sensitive and care little about battery brands.

I got my battery from puncturedtyre.com but they are a mobile service so it may cost $50 more than from a workshop. Autobacs has bosch batteries but it seems rather expensive. Of course the original car agents will stock branded batteries but most ppl wont like their prices and waiting time.

Batteries for petrol engine cars have one year warranty. If the battery is in the engine compartment, it usually wont last more than 2 years.

Just buy and use it. I do not know of workshops who cheat customers with bad batteries. What they usually do is sell you the cheapest brand, since most people like cheap, and knowing that it will fail after a year, and along with it perhaps your alternator since it has to work harder to charge a battery that does not retain its full charge very well, since it deteriorates much quicker.

If u are on a tight budget and the car is getting scrapped or sold, a 42B20L is enough. Otherwise u can pay slightly more for a 55B24L. Price wise is best to ask when u r ready to buy.

actually dont really understand the model code, online cant find much too.

found a oem brand fukuda, price is very reasonable and quick in service. 10 min and done le, $60-70 only which include installation.

How about this Zap car battery from Europe. www.zapbatteries.sg I saw quite a few workshop carrying. Dunno wat it mean by silver battery but Specs seems good and made in Europe. Price also reasonable after I inquire.

Use Bosch before. Very bad quality. Try Yasu (think they change name already), best.

#2. Car batteries in Singapore come with a 1-year warranty. But the problem is this: if you car can't start during the warranty period due to the car battery, how do you get to the workshop to claim the warranty? Therefore be sure to get an "onsite warranty" from whoever that changes your car battery. They should be able to come onsite to you, and if it is really the car battery that's causing the problems, they should give you a 1-for-1 swap. At no cost.

And yes, we prefer Amaron - the market leader in Singapore with > 50% marketshare and known for high cranking power and being long lasting.
