what's the difference between Mecool KM2 and KM2 Plus? it looks like there's not much of a difference?

main use:
wired connection
youtube
iptv
starhub tv+
plex

no need for netflix, disney+ all those sub apps.

Not sure bout movies, but as rznktoae mentioned, it's is quite flexible with the TV options, espcially for StarHub. Also, if you sign up for a basic pass now - you'll get 6 months free for EPL.

my samsung TV kaput and i get a Prism Smart TV QE version cost me $799 including delivery and installation plus setup and briefing of simple usage (bravo services)
Color and sound was good but not as good as my sony tv
i manage to sideload many app from my old ubox into the TV and it work as good.
Now my ubox is not in use.
so for those that is thinking to get a iptv box think carefully and take note of the cost.
Given that a new smart tv with all the given feature and cost a faction of the price getting a iptv box that cost more than a $100 may need further consideration.

How do you sideload ubox app like uplive or upmovie onto tv?
uplive do work despite the loading take sometime, u will need a VPN to bypass the check.
i dont run uplive on the TV instead i run ott player and built my own iptv and the setting to hardware video player and as for VOD i have 2 option. If you do know that u can setup web VOD from ubox and if u could convert web to apk and installed into the tv. the other option is i use muvod mostly asian movies and onebox for other movies. And it will be good to plug in a mouse into the TV for ease of access.
pm me if you do want to know better the details

ub will be closing soon if what you said about ublive is true. first time hear 'people' say vpn can bypass hardware check.

for ubmovie/ubvod, ub has release a version for handphone/tablet, it can work on any brands but you need to setup account/password using ubvod on the ub box. so don't have to convert web version yourself. however, since it is meant for tablet/hp, it is not optimized for android tv os.

you need to have google certified box if you want to play netflix, prime, disney....

not many choices available. mi box s, mecool km2 or 2 plus, chromecast with GTV are the few common. you want box thay can last, i suggest mibox or chromecast.

if you want to sideload apps, make sure that they are compatible with googleTV, don't need mouse to operate.

by the way, minix box is very reliable. if you box is 'not working', dont throw it away yet. check whether the power adaptor is working. most likely you can use the box again by paying $5 for a new adaptor.

just do a simple factory reset then your box is as fast as new.

consider buying a new tv if you got a budget to spend $150 for a box and to add another $650 u could get a prism + 55" android tv with all the support for your Requirements: Youtube, netflix, Amazon Prime Movies and able to sideload third parties apk.
however, if you do want to keep to your budget then no need so much a google chome cast TV will support
Requirements: Youtube, netflix, Amazon Prime Movies, however to sideload apk were be a little technical but can be done cost u $70 or less.
