There could be several problem.
1 it could be over heated device.
2. there is a malware that automate the shut down
3. There could be a automate shutdown within your device which was schedule to shut down at a certain time.
If in the day time it didnot happen to shut down then the over heat issue may not be the cause.
it is probably a shedule time shutdown.
thanks for the analysis.

i have kept the 2 tv boxes pretty weight and only stalled 2 common media streaming apps. so the likelihood of malware is quite low. heat issue is quite unlikely too.

if true, then i wonder what is it that trigger the schedule shutdown since mibox s doesn't have this functionaliy ootb.

another low possibility that i suspect is if whether it is my tv that cause it to shut down due to the absence of activity...

Yes, that is also a possibility. I have seen shuting down the box, it shut the tv too. So the same can happen on the tv too. check it out and i like to hear if that is the case, then i learn something again.

Hi all
May I ask if for recommendations for tvbox or app to have/download
My elderly parents wants to watch live tv. Taiwan channels mainly
Currently using a old svi cloud tv box. The live channels can't load already
My tv is a 4 year old Xiaomi, china global set I think. It's a smart tv but unsure if it's google powered

try 星视界, 海星tv , 野火电视,or cloudTV.

all xiaomi tv are using either AOSP andriod, or andriodTV/googleTV. can run most of the android apps.

the easier way to install these apps is to go through emotn store.

run emotn store, key in sharecode 545497.

Can install starhub tv+ on svicloud?
no. svicloud is pirate box. only google certified box can.

but google certified box is cheap, if you can spend $200 to buy a scammy box, you should be able to get certified box. around $60 can buy a reasonably good one.

Hi guys, would like to kindly check regarding this. Bought a Xiaomi TV Box S (2nd Gen) off Shopee, how come the timezone does not include Singapore?

And I also installed StarHub tv+ app as I have the subscription but if I try to watch it via the Xiaomi box, it doesn’t think that I am a subscriber. What seem to be the issue?

Since there’s no Singapore option available, can only set it to alternative GMT +08:00 options (Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur) etc. Any fix for this would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t think there’s ever a Singapore option available all these while.

I see, that’s weird, does it affect usability? On a separate note, I can log in to StarHub tv+ on my mi box s gen 2, but it can’t seem to detect my subscription even though I’m logged in. Is it a known problem?
