Hi guys,

Would the primary AirTies node work if it is connected via powerline to the main router? Thinking of doing this so that I can setup the mesh wifi for an area that can't get wifi from the main router. Thanks!

your mesh performance will then be severely limited by the power line already..

Thanks. Yup I'm not expecting fantastic speeds, more concerned whether a connection can be established in the first place.
Speed wise, assuming my current power line Lan speeds are quite decent, would a mesh starting from the modem that is at least two nodes away have faster speeds than a mesh starting from the power line? Thanks!

I’m running something almost like that.

My secondary node is connected to my primary node via powerline.

I have all 3 types of WiFi Mesh that Singtel offers.

My favourite is the Samsung WiFi Mesh because i make use of the Smart Home functions.
how is the askey's performance?

signal reach good?

Are the options that Singtel offer for Mesh any good for gaming, i.e. wifi connection to XBox/PS4? Am concerned on spikes/latency issues...

Without a doubt mesh (I.e. SingTel mesh) will have a upper hand compared to AP for extending Wi-Fi coverage and ease of use.

APs pretty much do the same thing except requiring a wired connection to the router instead. This can be better for speed and stability. WiFi mesh using wireless backhaul may suffer form congestion and slow speeds

anything on wireless transmission is affected by the environment and that some wifi mesh systems do offer wired backhaul.

if OP can afford multiple APs with wired backhaul, the mesh systems will likely benefit in the extension of coverage rather than the AP itself.

Ok. For a normal 5 room bto. Need 2 or 3 samsung mesh?

depending on how you gonna layout your nodes and how are your furnitures arranged.

A 5 room flat typically needs 2 nodes.

One in living room, should be wide enough to cover living room and dining room together, another along the hall way to the 3 rooms you have..

Hi. Can advice how to setup wifi mesh? Need to connect one of it to lan cable?
