Hi awful999

Thanks for your patience.

We were waiting for advice from our Mesh product team before replying to you.

In your case where LAN cable connections are not possible, you can consider either Askey AP5100W or Airties 4930.

You can read more about both options here.

Do note that the area size and build of your premises will be important factors determining suitability.

Do we need to update AirTies firmware?
Can advise how?

Internet intermittent and most of the time connected but no data transmission.

Hi SingTel,

SingTel just offered me a recontract to upgrade to 2 Gbps plus free Air Ties. Can I expect the Air Ties 4930 and new router and onr to support the 2 Gbps?

To the gurus, why upgrade to 2 Gbps when wireless clients can’t optimize and the limited Cat 6 Lan connections can’t take advantage. Moreover the Ethernet backhaul for the Air Ties max out at Gigibit.

Need some advice.

I am currently on the Singtel Fibre Broadband Plan with a Optical Network Terminal (ONT) connected to fibre termination point. My modem (Singtel Wifi Gigabit Router AC Elite) is located in another room connected to the ONT via Cat 6 cable.

I am offered to re-contract to the new 2 GB plan with a pair of Airties Wifi Mesh. I understand that with this setup a new Optical Network Router (ONR) will replace both the ONT and AC Elite Modem. All wired and wired devices will be connected to the ONR.

The issue I am facing is that my house is wired up with all cables connected to the modem. If I have to choose the new setup, it means I have to re-wire to connect all cables to the ONR. The other option I was offered was that the ONR will replace the ONT and I leave the modem with the rest of wired connections intact. This seemed to be the best option for me with the least hassle.

What I would like to know is that -

[1] In terms of network performance (speed and least interruption), will I be under-utilising the full capabilities of the new router as all my network connection are still via the old AC Elite modem? While 2 Gbps is stated, based on the brochure I notice that the max speed per wired connection is still 1 Gbps.

[2] Does that also mean I have in total 8 ethernet ports available (4 from the ONR and 4 from the AC Elite modem)

Any comments or advise is appreciated. Thanks!

Possible to set timing restrictions for WiFi signal? I can't find such option on airties. I want the WiFi to be available only from 9-10am

I seem to have some trouble getting a green 5G LED on Airties when using it as a AP. Anyone having the same issue and know how to resolve it?
