LOL so many T&Cs, how to get business? Anyway, the real deal breaker for me is the $10 minimum per transaction. If they remove that, this card won't be so bad for low spender like me. Even though I got the card, now I have to figure out how to pad transactions with junk items to be divisible by 10...

11. The accumulation of the Optimum$ will be rounded down to the nearest 1 Optimum$ on each Card
statement date. There is no limit to the total Optimum$ accumulated and no limit on the number of
transactions that can be made, for each statement cycle.

2. 1 Optimum$ is equivalent to S$1 cash rebate, unless otherwise stated. Redemption of cash rebate shall be
subject to a minimum of 50 Optimum$ and must be made in multiples of 50 Optimum$.

So many T&C... Gonna get my $88 rebate then will cancel this card... every quarter still need login choose this choose that...

yup so you need to target your spending to be in your 100 toqualify for 1 optimus. if not will get eaten.

not that bad lar if not for the departmental store part(this was the killer for me)can use for big ticket items. just need to plan in advance. i usally spend couple of thousand one time at a sale buying stuff for the family

just remember that this card is targeted at a certain group of people

i don't think u need to target each spending to be S$100 in order to get that optimus$.

u can spend $30 on Mon + $20 on Tue+ $10 on Wed + $40 on Thu = $100 to qualify for optimus$1 (under the 1% rebate category).

where did you get that S$10 min sped info? can't find it in t&c!

https://sg.anz.com/apps/optimum/ANZ Optimum Rebate Programme Terms and Conditions.pdf

"will be awarded 0.1 Optimum$ for every $10.00 (Or equivalent..."

"Optimum$ will be computed and accumulated daily... rounded down to the nearest 0.1 Optimum$"

"..rounded down to the nearest 1 Optimum$ on each Card
statement date..."

How come you cannot find? Or maybe you don't know how to decipher the code. Let me highlighted the important portion for you. It mean if you want the 1% for generic spend, you must spend at least $10 else you don't get a sh!t, if you spend less than 10 x $10 then you don't get a sh!t for the statement month. Really song man, this is the worst T&C i have seen ever, ANZ take the cream for using T&C to pawn people.

no i misunderstood min $10 per transaction. you can still charge less than $10, so long as the sum of all transactions within the same day is > $10. well, i may not be a big spender, most of my credit card transactions (95-98%?) are >$10. so no impact to me. but too bad for those kahcang puteh spenders. ;)

rounded down to the nearest 0.1 Optimum$
how to interpret this?
if one charged $5, the rightful rebate is 1% of $5 which is 0.05 Optimum$. but what is the nearest 0.1 of 0.05? is it 0.1 or 0?

in the same light, a transaction amount of $19 will get a rebate of 0.2 or 0.1?

EVERYTHING WILL BE ROUNDED DOWN. Bank won't be so stupid to round it up for you lol. And i highly doubt that the daily Optimum $ is cumulative of your transaction of that day (assuming they are all posted on same day).

Meaning you can't do a multiple $5 transaction and accumulate it to be eligible for the Optimum$ award. Every transaction is treated individually, so even if you make ten $5 transaction in a day, you get no rebate at all. In another word, minimum spend is $10 and subsequently in multiple block of $10.

So to recap with an example:

$100 (qualified) - O$5.0
$10 (qualified) - O$0.5
$19 (qualified) - O$0.5
$5 (qualified) - O$0
$10 (non qualified) - O$0.1
$19 (non qualified) = O$0.1
$5 (non qualified) - O$0

Total Rebate : O$6 (rounded down from O$6.2 at end of statement month)
Correct me if i'm wrong.

10. Optimum$ will be computed and accumulated daily. Optimum$ will be computed based on transaction
posting date and will be rounded down to the nearest 0.1 Optimum$. The maximum amount of Optimum$
that may be awarded for a Retail Spend shall be 30 Optimum$.
11. The accumulation of the Optimum$ will be rounded down to the nearest 1 Optimum$ on each Card
statement date. There is no limit to the total Optimum$ accumulated and no limit on the number of
transactions that can be made, for each statement cycle.

Looks like no limit on cash rebate and no minimum spend.

However if you forget to choose the category towards the end of each quarter then every category will only get 1%.

Still must re select even if the category were to remain the same?

I'm aware of that, but for now my spending patterns are in line with those restrictions. All cards have their own peculiarities. For ANZ Opti, the issues are:

(1) Rebates are awarded for each $10 spend. So if you spend $9.99, you get nothing; $19.99, you get $0.50 (2.5%); $99.99, you get $4.50 (4.5%).
(2) You need to accumulate $50 in rebates before you can get it credited to your account.
(3) You need to register your preferred category with ANZ every quarter. If you forget, you get only 1% rebate on all spend during the following quarter.

(1) and (2) are not dealbreakers, just a little annoying. (3) is a bigger issue for a forgetful person like me.

That said, I am seriously considering taking up ANZ Opti when the SCB Singpost changes its rebates on grocery spend on 1 July.

Thanks for summarizing the issues
