Wondering the same as well for ANZ travel card, the ideal situation is to simply do a 1 for 5 points matching equilvalent. But if they devalue...hope they give enough notice so we can redeem first. I'm going to accumulate to 5k equilvalent then stop using the card so I can redeem nicely to 0 without orphan points if that becomes necessary. only worry is they just convert/discontinue without any notice...then its bad.

Effective date of purchase of ANZ assets by DBS is supposed to be in June 2017. I am guessing DBS will move pretty quickly after that. But people have a couple of months.

not sure how DBS treated anz asset after that. retail is not a big deal to them. just to play save as now the optim$ is 1 to $1. DBS might not giving such conversion.

Which ANZ card, and transfer to which (or new) DBS card? Any details mentioned in the letter, or is it nothing specific?

no specific details, just some legalese to state that your account will be transferred to dbs management. But i highly suspect dbs will want to merge all the cards and their benefits, it's not good for a bank to offer too much differentiation of their own products

Now ANZ new card sign up promotion has been downgraded to $60 cash back only. So already the effect of DBS take over is showing up.

I think ANZ cards will just get rebranded to DBS initially and business will continue as usual. I dont expect them to make drastic changes immediately. What is the point of acquiring a company only to lose all the customers?

They will not be rebranded but equivalent dbs card will be given instead. If u are an existing cardholder, u can refer to the info brochure that explains in detail for credit card holder

DBS will probably not look for an equivalent, just the closest one. As I've seconded earlier, I think Optimum is unique but DBS is unlikely to be bound to offer the same product. But there are clearly two, if not more, options:

- They create a new card offering for ANZ Optimum holders, perhaps starting off by making it available only to ANZ holders, and then offer it more widely.
- They offer ANZ holders one of their existing products, with or without a retention bonus or some form of incentive to stay on.

Naturally DBS will do a cost-benefit analysis and see. My gut-feeling is that DBS will short-change ANZ Optimum holders because they are more conservative when it comes to rewards, and seem to prefer a small portfolio of products. On the other hand, they may be looking to make a big splash in the Singapore cc market, and see this as their chance. We'll know soon enough. June isn't that far away.
