why it sucks

- rebates suck
- no internet banking
- $88 must wait until 8 weeks from day you spend $388 (stan chart and citibank's sign up offers so much better)
- need to go their stupid website to "redeem"

do you dive in to a pool and realize it is too deep? the onus is on you to find out the details before you commit. if this card doesn't benefit you, you just demonstrated your inability to shortlist what suits you.

if the bank needs 8 weeks to dish out the S$88, so be it. the way you put across it as if your family depends heavily on this money to survive!!! :s22:

Hey, to each his own.

I like this card and find it great ! Hard to get 5% rebate. And this card works for me.

Those people who applied for the card but don't find it good (get only 1%) is also great news for people like me 'cos this brings the average rebate per user down and from ANZ point of view, makes it more likely for ANZ to maintain the benefits.

ANZ has increased the cashback offer, if we only have one ANZ optimum card, and now going to apply for swich card with $100 cashback, are we eligible for 100 cashback? Are we considered as new card applicant as we never have switch card before ?

Previously, I not consider new customer when I signed up optimum card 3 months ago. Had switch card.

50 Optimum$ required to redeem for $50 cash back.

But what is the conversion rate like? How much must you spend to earn 1 Optimum$?

Also, it says you choose one category and you get 5% rebate for that category and 1% for everything else. Does this everything else include monthly recurring such as internet bill, mobile bill, HDB S&CC charges and Paypass tap transactions?

For transactions under the 5% category, earn 0.1 optimum$ per $2 spent

For transactions on anything else (includes all that you mention), earn 0.1 optimum$ per $10 spent

Optimum$ earn capped at 30 per transaction

At the end of each month's statement the optimum$ earn is rounded down to nearest optimum$

How much you spend to get 50 optimum$ depends how well you deal with the rounding down. Recommend to spend at merchants under the chosen category for the 5% rebate to earn the rebate faster
