Don’t think this is true. It doesn’t add another two years. It counts from the first day you use the phone. So in essence you only have two years. Not three
i think let's clear the doubts.. since many people have so much confusion. Because personally i went through this with my iPhone 13 PM.

Scenario 1 Brand new (date of activation + AC+):

Assume date of purchase 1/1/2024 with AC+
Coverage expiration: 1/1/2026

Total coverage of AC+ throughout 2yrs.

Scenario 2 Brand New (Date of activation):
Assume date of purchase 1/1/2024.
Coverage expiration: 1/1/2025.
Purchase AC+ on 25th December 2024
Coverage expiration: 25/12/2026

Normal AC during the first year
AC+ during 2nd & 3rd year.

It’s good that Apple Singapore allows us to purchase AC+ anytime within the 1yr period from the device’s original Manufacture Date. Presumably, they wanna be in-line with ALabs’ policy.

Somehow, it also helps to alleviate your selling price of your device too. But must sell on Carousell and not to HP shops. Coz HP shops will eat in at their usual stated price, they don’t care whether you have AC+ or not.

Yes, got to be careful within the 1st yr. I personally wouldn’t recommend doing it, and would strongly advise to purchase AC+ within the 60 days window period. I’m a yearly change iPhone user myself, but I do buy AC+ to give me a peace of mind.

Transfer of ownership is possible when you email to Apple. Usually do not have to do that, as within the period of the validity of AC+, anything wrong with your device, just book appt with Apple Support app Genius Bar. They will recognise the person who present the device with AC+, and wouldn’t request for previous owner’s ID/email.

most iphone are well built. if you have a good case, tempered glass. AC will do just fine.

the reason why i paid for AC+ on the 2nd and 3rd year is to cover any battery gg-ed scenario.

You only get free battery replacement from AC+ if it hit 80% with a certain charge cycle. Else you still need to pay for battery replacement even if you have AC+. Forget the charge cycle, can someone share again?

the moment got the battery degraded message, can warrant a free replacement under AC+. Battery replacement for ip15pm is about $150 so after claiming one round and i still find it value for money.
you get coverage for another 2 years.
