Thanks for the info. I'm still can't decide as I mostly cycle on PCN and also a leisure, recreation cyclists. Wonder if hybrid is the right type of bike as I have foldies.

For hybrid I have personal preference for GT which u may consider getting from SD. The other one is Merida which I feel is value for money.

Anyone has recommendation for mounting stuff (e.g. cycle computer or light, etc) to the stem?
Most devices don't seem to have the option to mount at 90 degrees rotated.

Hopefully nothing too expensive, as it's for my low-end bike

Mount on handlebar can? Can turn any angle. But is for hand phone size only. Selfix got sell around $20.

At $2.4 k is it a steal?

i dont think its a steal considering that you can pay abit more to get a frame that is designed by merida .

Yeah, but you already have foldies. What is it that the foldies are not doing it for you that makes you think a hybrid will?

I have narrow down my choice to Polygon, GT and Merida. Need to view and test ride (if possible) before I can make a decision. My budget is appox $600 + $100. Base on my height 165CM and leg length, 75cm, the bike frame(base on MTB) should be around 41-43cm. Prefer the lower end which is 41cm.

You getting hybrid because you want more comfort? Otherwise I have no idea why you need a hybrid when you are merely cycling on PCN.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Reason for trying to mount on stem is to free up some space on the handlebar for other stuff like lights, or maybe a loud horn.
My current cycle computer (Bontrager Trip 100) is mounted with the provided rubber bands, but the base doesn't secure well when trying to use cable ties or normal rubber bands to tie the mount at 90 deg.

I'm reluctant to install one of those handlebar extensions

coz it makes the bike quite bulky when trying to put into the car.

sigh, it's a problematic request I know...
shall try to figure out something.

Some models may not have frame sizes so small, I think...
When I visited Hup Leong to look at the Merida hybrids, most seem to be size 48 and above.

4 in the family, only have 3 foldies and we always cycle together as a family. So one got to stay back since only have 3 bikes. Instead of buying another foldies, why not buy a entry hybrid since the price is not much different from a low end foldies.

Can consider a mini-velo too.

The Raleigh MV8 is < $400. Quite decent for PCN usage.
If you want 700C tyres, Giant has the Escape 3 for < $500.
