Hi, not sure if this will help you, but I suggest you go to the audio setup page for the AC Ryan player and see if there's anything wrong with the settings. Just check audio out is enabled from HDMI?

Hope it helps....

Hi Boxster,

How is the Starhub Hubstation HD Box so far?

We had many models facing similar situation like yours. And Starhub last week had replied me that they are still looking into the matter as they had visited one customer home to understand the Blue Screen issue.

Also, i personally seen one same case like yours also.

I will keep you posted once i received firmed solutions on the HubstationHD Box.

Just to share also Starhub new modem cum router doesn't support UPnP, if any HWZ bros using this new modem, it doesn't support Music playback from PC and Yamaha iPhone App. This is only applicable to all Yamaha Network Products like AV Receivers from RX-V671 onwards or even older models of Network Receiver.

Take care yeah.

Cheers! :)

This could be one of the issues I faced. I can see the titles of my files on the TV screen, but they were greyed out and I cannot play them.

May I know what is the brand and model of modem/router?

Hi bro,

It's a original Starhub Modem cum Router (Model: DPC-3925? Something like that).

The solution to it is to get a external router and disable the Starhub Built-in Wifi. Use the external router as your main network distribution hub to AVRs / TVs / PCs / iPad or iPhone.

With regards to your case, please allow me to have some time to get back to you.

Cheers!

Hi!

I trust you saw V467 in Harvey Norman stores.

Yes. V467 is older model and all v71 series are latest models.

Main core is the USB for iPod/iPhone in V471 and V467 has to purchase iPod dock seperately.

Cheers!

Thanks.
Yes, I saw it from HN, but the receiver only, they don't have promotion for the package.

Well, you mind explaining me your current setup so i can understand better?

:)

AVR connected to router, router connected to PC. PC shares library using the media player. My PS3 could see and play the files with no problems. However, it does not works for Yamaha 771, it can see the files but cannot play (all are greyed out).

Anyway, this issue is not that critical as I can always play from my PS3, just that it consumes more electricity by switching on one more device(PS3).

The more critical issue would be the following:
"Hi Yamaha,

I just bought the RXV771 and had a problem with scene selection. I had programmed the 1st preset scene to use HDMI1, (Switch ON TV) and Surround Decode. But whenever I turned on by pressing the scene, the sound from my source(PS3) will always come out from the TV speakers instead of my 5.1 speakers. The display also doesn't show the speakers(5.1) icons. I had to switch off the AVR and on it back to have the 5.1 icons back and sound will then come out from my speakers. May I know how to rectify this?

I also understand that pressing Surround Decode a few times will switch to PL music, PLmovie, PLII music, etc. But when I watch a bluray, sometimes it didn't work and only stays at surround decode with no option of choosing PL music, PL movie, PLII, etc. Something wrong with my settings? "

I think there's a sequence to switch on the devices so that the audio output does not go to the TV speakers. If that is the case, then it is a bit weird for Yamaha AVR. Or I may have configure some settings wrongly.

Hi YAMAHA,
I decided not to put the Hubstation HD in the living room, so my problem is "solved". However, what I do notice is that sometimes, HDMI control will lose it's memory, and does not allow me to control volume of the SB via TV remote. To resolve it, I need to on my BD player, and it works again (even though I did not choose the HDMI input on SB to the one connected to the BD player). A bit of a nuisance, but would be glad if I can get rid of it, especially if I am not home, and wife will be complaining too many remotes again! :)

If you have any solutions for me with regards to the above, it would be wonderful :)

Hi Boxster bro,

Good to hear from you again.

Well i trust this is due to the Handshake issue. When you power on SB & TV first before your Blu-ray, you cannot control. When you try power on Blu-ray first then follow by SB & TV, rightfully it works.

Give it a try bro.

Meanwhile if you would like to have simple solution to single remote, there are many optional universal remotes around that works really good.

For example like Logitech, for iPhone / iPad users can also look for this.

Cheers!

Is the HDMI Control function in V771 being turned on?

Allow to me to confirm.
If your playback source is Stereo, you can select the Dolby Pro Logic modes right?
If your playback source is 5.1, you are not able to select right?

Hi Drexter bro,

Please refer above in blue.

Allow us to have some time to confirm your queries.

Thanks!

Had confirmed the following.

If HDMI Control function in V771 is turned off. No issue.
If HDMI Control function in V771 is turned on.
TV on, AVR on, Source on, no issue.
Source on, TV on, AVR on, no issue.
AVR on, TV on, Source on, (Issue: Sound came from TV speaker, not 5.1)
Source on, AVR on, TV on, (Issue: Sound came from TV speaker, not 5.1)
From the above, I realised AVR cannot on before TV.

Therefore, switching off HDMI control solve the problem....

I also thinking of using cable to hook on the FM wall socket. Signal in my room is damn poor now... Is it the same cable as what u hook on the TV?

Hi!

Great. Alternatively, try HDMI Control in TV to switch off.

I trust this is due to handshake issues.

Well another issue is:

I also understand that pressing Surround Decode a few times will switch to PL music, PLmovie, PLII music, etc. But when I watch a bluray, sometimes it didn't work and only stays at surround decode with no option of choosing PL music, PL movie, PLII, etc. Something wrong with my settings?

Allow me to explain in a simple way.

When you watch a Blu-ray disc encoded with DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD, Dolby ProLogic cannot be applied because Dolby ProLogic is not designed to enhance from full digital 5.1 or 7.1 signals, it can work with any stereo sources like CD Audio Musics, VCD recorded in 2-Channel PCM data, Standard Definition TV Programs etc etc.

Cheers!

Hi bro,

No worries. They are kids. :s13:

With regards to your FM issue, i suggest you and Drexter bro to use RF Pin Cable to connect from SCV Wall Plug to your AVR.

We don't recommend the original cable because that cable depends on area so some area will face some channels cannot receive.

If you need the image of a RF Cable how it looks like, let me know.

Cheers! :)
