With regards to your FM issue, i suggest you and Drexter bro to use RF Pin Cable to connect from SCV Wall Plug to your AVR.

We don't recommend the original cable because that cable depends on area so some area will face some channels cannot receive.

If you need the image of a RF Cable how it looks like, let me know.

Well another issue is:

I also understand that pressing Surround Decode a few times will switch to PL music, PLmovie, PLII music, etc. But when I watch a bluray, sometimes it didn't work and only stays at surround decode with no option of choosing PL music, PL movie, PLII, etc. Something wrong with my settings?

Allow me to explain in a simple way.

When you watch a Blu-ray disc encoded with DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD, Dolby ProLogic cannot be applied because Dolby ProLogic is not designed to enhance from full digital 5.1 or 7.1 signals, it can work with any stereo sources like CD Audio Musics, VCD recorded in 2-Channel PCM data, Standard Definition TV Programs etc etc.

Hi bro,

Yes, it is the same cable you use for SCV box to antenna socket.

The same cable connect from wall to AVR will do.

Hi,

I am thinking to buy the Yamaha YHT-S400, but I see many demo the subwoofer is sitting horizontally, can I change it to vertically ? Will the position damage the component inside ?

And, once I plug the hdmi to my tv, once I turn on the tv, the soundbar will turn on by itself and vice versa ?

Hi!

Subwoofer can be placed vertically and horizontally. No problem on this.

As for HDMI CEC function, it depend alot on the various product you owned.

Hi Magnus,

Have you tried the auto-calibration? Auto-Calibration function should detect your subwoofer automatically.

Alternative, please see under your Digital Sound Projector - Subwoofer output settings.

yamaha YHT-S400 with hatachi Hitachi UT42-MX700A LCD TV

Hi Mr. Yamaha,

Like to ask your advice, do u ever come across yamaha YHT-S400 connect to Hatachi UT42-MX700A TV.

Hitachi TV quite special , has to connect to multimedia station via a HDMI cable.only one hdmi port from TV.... but multistation has 3 hdmi port and 2 RYB port cum analog port and optical digital sound port.

Therefore now TV > station > yamaha > Blueray.
This way blue ray playback has surround sound but no surround for TV.


If I put this way : TV > Yamaha > station & blueray, my tv & blueray got surround but no picture as TV source come from station.

any way to solve this??? unless my starhub go do HDMI or by optical cable?
hope to use HDMI for my tv. don't want to buy optical cable.

Hi,

Firstly, I encounter static sound coming out of speakers.... Then today when I was playing Transformers, the AVR shut down suddenly and when I turn it on, it shows "Check SP Wires". I had checked all the SP wires, all are ok. May I know if my AVR is faulty? I just got it.

Negative on speaker end should goes to negative on AVR end. Positive on speaker end should goes to Positive on AVR end.

There must be something wrong somewhere. Did you try contacting the dealer you purchase from? May i ask what speakers you using? If possible, provide me model and brand.

Yes emailed them. Speakers are b&w 685 for front, htm61 center, m1 for surround.
Is it grounding issue? Cos first it was static noise coming out from speakers then now sudden shut down.
