I am interested to add an center speaker for my YHT-S300. Can it be done?
Any model to recommend?

Hi Ray,

Yes. If just center speaker alone, we have the following available.

NS-C444 / NS-C500

But it will be a little too big for your matching to YHT-S300.

Hi Ray,

NS-C210 comes in a set combination of NS-B210(Satellite Speakers) + NS-C210(Center Speaker) that comes in one box. Hence your purchase must be including the additional pair of surround speakers.

That will be NS-PB210 @ $379 for entire set.

Can anybody help me or face this same problem b4?

I'm having sound problem connecting my Yamaha soundbar YHT-S401 to my Samsung Series 5 LED TV (UA40D5500) using HDMI cable.

Basically no sound from my soundbar.

Is it because this Series 5 model do not have ARC feature on its HDMI input or I have to use a optical cable to connect instead?

Hi, I have the DSP-AX1 for years. However, it kinda broke down. I believe the processor is faulty. Cinema DSP mode (right channel no sound), HiFi DSP (everything normal). I believe this model is already obsolete, so it's hard to get it fixed. What should i do with it?

Hi Jason,

probably you could check with the salesperson whom you purchase from.

From my view, it could be your connection problem or settings problem.

Just a simple check procedures.
1. Ensure your YHTS401 HDMI Output is connected to TV HDMI (ARC) Input.
2. YHTS401 must turn on HDMI Control in your settings.

Afterwhich, let us know more in your setup for instance post some image of your current settings and we can assist you better.

You can try connect the Yellow Composite Video to your TV and see if the video comes out.

I encountered the same issue as Jason mentioned. If the TV does not have HDMI (ARC) connection, the sound will not work if its connected via HDMI?

In your situation, yes probably you already know the answer. Every country has their own Cable TV Provider and HD Set-top Box. While manufacturers try their best to meet every country HDMI specs [It is impossible to meet all while HDMI features and specs always upgrade and change year-to-year improving.]
What i could see, it is the HDMI handshake issue over the set-top box and V3900. While Set-Top Box has to restart inorder to send out signal to talk to the AV Receiver, in this situation, there isn't anything Yamaha could do to further help our customers. In fact, even latest HDMI products also face similar situation as you could see from this forum of our post [Probably a long long scroll for you].

Sorry my friend, if there's anything i could do to further resolve your problem, i would try my very best. But for this, i really couldn't further assist. It has to come from the Set-Top Box manufacturer while Starhub also appointed someone to mass manufacture their set-top box. Same goes to Singtel.

Well I don't know what happened. Either it was the Samsung TV firmware upgrade - Starhub secretly upgrading their firmware or what - but everything now WORKS!

nope it doesnt work...still no video and sound coming out from the soundbar...
