it's an old i5. new i5 is already there in the IT show for other models.
erm.. what is so powerful for the U36JC? The poor GPU?
can get hot during load... overheat and become a goner?
old 1st-gen i5 model r in this format: i5-xxxwhich model?
I just brought the U36JC
1.Do I need to discharge my laptop battery first b4 I charge?
2.Really need to charge 8 hour?
3.Is it better for me to discharge my battery first b4 I store them?
4.If store them aside for long period of time, i take them out again, do I need to charge 8 hour again?
how to maintain laptop battery?
I love the U36 too but wonder will they fit a new sandy brige in the future..
lol. Finally got it.
Doing the backup for the recovery disc. It prompted that it need 6dvd!!! Wonder if I saw it correctly........
Anyone going to dump all the software and do a fresh installation? Can advise how to do it?
In the past I just install a "original" OS over it and recover all the drive from the recovery disk.
Think this is rather dumb. Any way to install the original OS into the system without all the other software that come with it? Then from there, selective install stuff that I want.
My feedback on this notebook about some of the comment made previously
Ok, it do feel a bit warm. Especially on the right side. Wonder if the HD is located there. Maybe can replace it with SSD so wont be that warm. The left side could be the CPU. Think can reduce the setting of the CPU to prevent it from being too hot.
About vibration. Can feel it more compare to my dinosaur Lenovo. Oh well, the profile is thinner so I guess bo bian.
Thats all that I can say for now. Still, I like it. haha.....
Oh one more thing, where to get the keypad skin for this? Can share?

thanks for the honest feedback.
fortunately i did not recommend this "heater" to my friends.
Bashing something that you have not even see or touch????
Maybe your should open your eyes/heart more so that you can make better and more meaningful comments.
Unfortunately, Asus underestimated the heat and fan noises that come from using these parts
but it consistently forgets to pay attention to the small details. And in the case of the U36Jc, those details include a wonky mouse button, glossy bezel, and some heat issues.
Lets ignore such comments.
2nd day trying it out. Everything is alright. Anyone know what is the top right button thing do? I know it is suppose to let me start up fast. Tried it just now, end up at something like a "safe mode" window.
Ya also, any one so steady to format it already and did a fresh installation? Haha..... if no feedback then I wont go do what I usually do. Is going to take too much time to find all driver.(hm.... or maybe will do it after my exam. haha.....)
Also, saw this keyboard protector in the market section, that attract less dust and also fend off bacterial. The seller has not feedback leh. Dunno if they have the version for this notebook. Going to bring it around so dun wish to see the key scratches my screen. Now still using it with the plastic that come with it......
don't wish to create havoc here.
thus i am out of here.
All technology stuff has its pro and con. what you have posted in the last 3 post is rather unfair.
