Mine just landed in SG waiting for Custom Clearance so probably should get it before the end of the week or early next week.

I did check the feedback after I ordered and did see some being mentioned.

Just received my HD 7 from the postman (ordered from Amazon). The unit is working and seems to be in perfect condition. I've just registered on the Asus website and also emailed them to check if this comes with International Warranty (if so, it would be a bonus).

Now charging the unit while updating the OS.

Just tried the Camera app but could not get it working. Keeps telling me that there is no camera.

If anyone has the HD7, could you check what is your Camera's Firmware Version is ? Mine is showing ffffff which seems weird. After the Android 4.2.2 update, same issue.

I am going to return my unit as I just checked with Asus Singapore, the unit does not come with International Warranty.

I paid US$119 for it which was about S$153 I think.

Got this Amazon.com: ASUS MeMOPad HD 7-Inch 16 GB Tablet, Blue (ME173X-A1-BL): Computers & Accessories

According to Asus singapore, the unit I got only comes with North America warranty.

I am sending mine back to amazon for a replacement as there was no camera detected on the unit. Normally, I do not mind that but since it was for my mum and her android phone also had the camera app crashing, I thought that I should make sure the hd 7 had a working camera, does not matter if it is not good quality.

If it came with international warranty, I would have just sent it into asus singapore to get it replaced or fixed but since it does not, I am sending it back to amazon for replacement. They are in the process of sending a replacement now and would compensate up to $20 for my return shipping cost. I am not sure how much singpost would cost but will send it later this morning.

Beyond that, the unit is quite responsive and I actually like it even though if am pro apple.

Just got back from the post office. I have never been very lucky so this is quite normal for me.

Anyways, while I had it, I was testing the ebook ready MyLibrary Lite which actually was surprising quite good. The Text to Speech feature would be a godsend for my mum who wants to read books but have problem reading prints for long. Of course, I could enlarge the text size but having the device read back from time to time is a good move. Something that my iPad cannot do for me.

I tried player some movies and the stock Movie player seems to be quite limited in what it can support so I downloaded and tried Moboplayer and am pleased while playing both hardware and non-hardware supported codecs movies. Quite smooth and the sound is actually quite loud for a small device like that. I only saw one speaker so I guess it may be mono sound.

The screen and keyboard is quite responsive and I do not see any lag while navigating between pages or launching any apps. I have not tried playing any extensive games as I did not buy it for such.

The GPS works great and I know there is the Streetdirectory Singapore Maps which has off-line support but from the Google Play store on the MemoPad HD7, I cannot find the app, I only got the Malaysian and the Indonesian versions. The Malaysian Maps does show Singapore maps but nothing offline. It be great if I can have off-line maps then paired with the gps, you never really can get that lost in Singapore.

They did provide a plastic stand so that you can watch movie from.

Overall, it sure is a good product. I do not forsee my mum taking a lot of photos with it but it is always good to have a fully working device from the offset.

I am actually tempted to get another one just for fun since it is that cheap but I will see what the quality of the replacement unit is first. Nothing urgent at the moment since I am still happy with my iPad.

Thanks for the quick repsonse ! Shipping cost is not as bad as I thought ! :)

With the postpac envelope I paid $24.85 . I guess for a big ticket item like this, it is okay but definitely not worth if it was say detergent.

Oh one thing is that amazon is prepared to credit up to $20 for my postage fee so pretty much, I paid nothing to send it back and they are already in the process of sending me a replacement.

I did order a wd 3tb external harddisk from amazon, hope it turns out well or else shipping cost with packaging would be quite expensive.

The original order via I-parcel took about 2 weeks to arrive. The return via singpost registered air parcel cost me $23.25 which they refunded me including the $1.60 for the postpac envelope.

I just do not feel comfortable with the reviews I see on amazon about the issues it is facing and just contacted amazon about canceling the replacement. They say it is too late but asked me to refuse the package and they will send me a full refund.

All three of my Memo Pads are working.

So far so good.

I am not sure what happened. The first app I tried was the "mirror" app cos I was curious and that is when I realized my camera was not functioning. Guess I am just unlucky.
