The Kaby Lake BIOS was out a few months back. This does not mean that TS has updated the MB.

that's true. that's one of the concerns i highlighted to him when he mentioned this to me. i think it should have been flashed (because he paid a fee to the shop to ensure parts are working).

but now the shop comes back and mention that they didn't test the pcie slot. so much for a testing fee..

before i took home the cpu from the shop,
i already ask her whether can i use the com already, she say yes, just install window.
i asked her about the m-flash & bios thingy, she say already updated.

u can load into the bios and check the bios version?

apparently, i am not very convinced that they did everything right. not checking the pcie slot while taking a testing fee is just not right.

yes.
i went into bios and went to msi website to check the latest version for my motherboard.
both matches with latest update.

both gpus dead (very unlikely)

So what's the diagnosis? I'm curious

Conclusion , shop help me run full test for 2 hours and i paid $20,
told me is GPU faulty.
Today i went down to #05-01 sls with my GPU only, let him check,
he on media player , play some default video for quite awhile, no problem/issue and he say GPU comfirm not faulty.
I reach home, connect gpu to monitor, on dota for 3minutes, problem come again.

im speechless already
overall conclusion is that, i will purchase a new gpu, motherboard and process next time.

So at the end of the day, u have not went to distro? Even if u buy mobo or gpu, problem may still persist.

Jus bring whole rig down to distro ask them to help test, dun bring components only.

actually i already book appointment @ tech dynamic today but i received a email from videopro to bring gpu down for test/replace hence i cancel the appointment then i head down to sls instead.
i don't have so much time to spent on all this.
first, i brought to the madcow, they say their motherboard no problem.
then i bring to another reputable shop which my friend recommend to run the full test, informed that GPU is faulty.
then i bring to sls, they say gpu is not faulty.
You guys might not feel the frustration but I am :s8:

this is the problem bro,
I already went down the very first day i received my gpu.
they did not test any gpu on the motherboard i bought from them, reason they gave was the window is not installed.
The only thing they tell me is that, cpu is okay already, go home and install window then can already.

U mentioned the shop played default video using media player? Kind of a joke to me as even integrated graphics inside your chipset able to play videos. Your GPU not even stressed out a tiny bit how to detect problems? Test the GPU using furmark, heaven engine 4, time spy etc is a better choice

i paid $20 for another shop @ upper serangoon centre, he did full run test which i seen in my desktop with the 1024K passed / Self-test 896K passed!
thats how he came into conclusion it's the GPU faulty.
then i proceed to SLS which the shop that played the default video via media player and he mentioned gpu is 100% not faulty.

In this case go local distro RMA better as they have more experience in checking and RMA parts. They know how to check properly to determine what part is actually faulty.

Think you should have go tech dynamic in the first place.
