Senseless talking to u, moreover it's my choice to reply.

Scroll the thread. I do not need to spoon feed u. Information are found where u need, especially when all u have to do is scroll, not even Google.

Edit: Reflect on yourself. When someone ignores u, it is a kind way to ask u to GTFO their backs. Who is the spoiled kid throwing their tantrum here demanding for attention?

You totally avoid my question on your contradiction and now acting like a spoiled kid throwing tantrum?

So what is your answer to TS's problem? By offering advise here, I do expect you to have some form of knowledge to provide a definite answer, the same analogy you are expecting the tech support of a DIY shop to provide TS an answer which he did. You are blindly blasting a guy working as a tech support based on your expectation.

The guy tested the card to be OK, in what way did he failed in his role as a tech support?

If can't go Corbell tech support, then just PM someone and ask him to diagnose Lor :s22:

PS maybe all u have to do is test the GPU by playing default video using media player :s22: since tech guy did all he could

Just remb to go Corbell asap since it's near your place. But wait...can you trust corbell tech support? According to someone, we cannot expect much from tech support..:s8:

ya, by testing playing videos on media player. very conclusive...oh wait...are you going to say now we cannot expect much from tech support?

You have no answer to your contradiction or you have no idea what's wrong in the first place?

I don't need you to spoon feed me, I've been reading this thread since the first day. It was your self expectation and blindly blast the tech support without consideration on his role and level of hardware knowledge that sparked all these.

TS said he went to Videopro and the tech support performed a test and found out the card was ok using his system in the workshop. So why are you finding fault with him?

I'm not siding anyone, you blast blindly without putting the fact right in the first place.

yes he did test on both my cpu and his cpu.

has the system been tested in it's entirety? everything include case, psu, all connections on. not just separate cpu and gpu test.

that's why ppl recommend buy mb, cpu, ram and psu all from one shop. that's the minimum to boot and test to confirm working. shop will use own gfx card to test if you want before leaving.

to recap,
cpu/ram prime95 no issue (also ok from previous usage with igpu)
gpu no issue in another shop (can boot and display, your problem is no display or artifacting)
bios is latest version

actual details of whatever tests or diagnostics done are sketchy at best. what you really need is to swap around all components to determine the fault.

combine cannot display or got artifact or unstable. old gpu also no display.

artifacting mostly due to "electrical" problems causing data error and corruption, too low voltage, too high voltage, bad contacts, failing connections, electrical leaks, etc.

assuming mb and gpu are working,
1. psu not delivering rated power over 12v
2. gfx not seated properly
3. failing pcie
4. internal conflict with pcie addresses
5. mounting problem

also, your ssd is on nvme(pcie) or sata? play around with the configuration to see if it works.

Ps I made an edit to my reply. U might want to edit it for future reference :) nonetheless I am not required to reply u. I am simply avoiding conflict with someone who acts all high and mighty by blasting about challenger and SIA Stewardess :)

Tech support is to test the card to be working, the card did run well with the video clip, what do you expect them to do?

Are you expecting every tech support MUST HAVE all games installed in their test bed to perform test based on your request?

Tech support is not your personnel game advisor, period.

Do you have any idea how many games are there in the market? I don't know, please provide me this must needed information so I can better advise fellow members on their problem, if any.

For SOMEONE'S reference.

U try this...

To test CPU/mobo
Remove your GPU, and put HDMI/VGA cable into mobo and boot from there. Go download memtest, intel burn test, and prime 95 and let it run. For burn test let it run 9999 loops, normal, and u ownself set timer 10 mins enough already. Prime 95 also roughly the same I think, but if u have more time can test longer hours Lor. First time I assembled my computer I let burn test run overnight and check in the morning.

For GPU
Put back GPU and then boot up heaven engine 4, and just keep it playing. Check temp fluctuations and Ensure that it doesn't have very sudden dips in core and memory clocks. Try out furmark too and just run it. Similar to heaven engine. For timespy, watch out for artifacts (purple and green lines that flash, blinking screen, or your GPU might just crash automatically)

Self diagnose... if still can't settle, call grab, head down to distro and pawn item there

I don't edit my reply be it right or wrong, nothing to hide and nothing to edit either.

No one blasting, Challenger or SIA ex-stewardess, please don't put words into my mouth.

And you are still avoiding my question my throwing tantrum like a spoiled kid, please continue to discuss the contradiction on you replies and not avoiding it.

Are you contradicting like the other guy?

If the gfx work well with the video clip, what are you expecting the tech support to tell TS? You are expecting the tech support to load games to test the card till the card failed then you are happy with the test result, no?

Contradiction

Do you go to Challenger to buy a laptop and ask the sale personnel to run various hardware tests before you pay?

Or, do you ask the ex-SIA stewardess car sale representative to drive your car to Pasir Gudang for a test run before you buy?

I don't edit my reply be it right or wrong, nothing to hide and nothing to edit either.

This argument is just far fetched.

Is not far fetched, peoples are simply expecting too much from a tech support working in a DIY shop. There are many reasons card could failed during game play. Not every failure are due to faulty card, The PSU play an important part to provide the required current , just an example.

Contradiction

There is no contradiction, I'm asking you do you do that since you expect peoples working in that trade must have some form of knowledge?

You are avoiding the questions with endless contradiction.

you are the dense one and contradicting one. when we say it is not conclusive, you assume we are unreasonable and that we expect tech support to test on games TILL card fail. This type of response already shows your train of thoughts.

enough said, hungry already...dinner time! you go continue thinking what you wanna think. moderator haa :s8:

i read this thread i totally LOL...

i think some people expect too much from a Computer Parts Store....

The main purpose of the of the store personnel is sell parts/recommend and take care of the store which sometimes include assembling and SOME level of troubleshooting.

Knowing how to assembling computers DOES NOT MEAN they have the knowledge to troubleshoot hardware issues. There are staff that just knows/memorize which part goes in where and it magically can boot up.

Like Shadow84 bro, mentioned in a previous post, staff that have some troubleshooting knowledge, most if not all come from years of hardware failure encounters and trial and error. Not all of the shops have this kind of knowledge as they simply push the consumer back to the distributor or the consumer sometimes just directly go to distributor.

And dont blame/fault the distributor if they are unable to find the diagnose/find the problem. Most of the time distributor testing method also very low level.

Mobo problem? They insert in their cpu, gpu. Can boot, can run cpu stress test, can run gpu stress test = no problem

your gpu sometimes will randomly sometimes artifact? They insert your gpu into their test bench, can boot, can gpu stress test no artifact = no problem

if u claim there is an issue, they tell u 2 months send back to taiwan for checking LOL ?

Sometimes in their technical department the parts magically work fine on their end. I had experience before whereby my set of ram doesnt work on 2 sets of computers at home, but works perfectly fine and even passing memtest at the distributor side, and they wanted to reject my RMA.

TLDR: dont expect shops to know what u think they should know

Seems like in this case TS is experiencing one of the weird issue and thus not everyone will know how to diagnose the problem.

In this scenario, no stress test was done. Just ran a stupid video and tell u your gpu is fine.

The above are what you posted, did i add anything extra to prove your contradiction?

Playing video file to prove the card is working is not enough, so you are expecting the tech support to play the same game to prove the card is working?
