just be sure you are getting it for the right reasons especially since its price is close to G12 territory and i even havent touch on the various brands dslr that is also around that price.

s90 n s95 were also at this pricing (when first launched). ppl buying s90/s95/s100 for many good reasons.

In that case, do not try the G12. Seriously...just get the S100 and be happy with it. If you try, i can confirm till next year you will be undecided which one to buy.

Amazing at the amount of technology they cramped into the small body of the G12.

yes, but much bigger than S100 n may not hv f2 lens.

Well, Samsung has one camera around size of G12 that is f/1.8 for $5xx during show.

Then there is also the f/1.8 Olympus XZ1.

actually G12 is great, except that it is not as compact. I guess sometime in life you have to take away some.
