Confirmed HSBC cannot use Cardup to earn rebates/rewards. Tried before & asked CSO, they said its a payment service provider so does not qualify.
So far, its only UOB, BOC, SCB to be worthwhile...not sure about OCBC & CIMB.
DBS & HSBC confirmed no.

Maybank Plantinum Visa also recognises the CardUp use for rebates though the rate (3.33%) is lesser than BOC's

SCB not worth it, since the maximum you can get is only 3% on the Manhattan card, but for that you have to spend over 3k a month and you lose 2.6% on the fees.

In the past, SCB singpost was worth it.

i am new to the CardUp payment option

1. my current Income Tax payment is setup via GIRO monthly deduction and is due 6th of every month or a day or 2 later depending whether it is a weekend. In the CardUp payment portal, there is a requirement to input the "Payment Due Date". What date should I enter to prevent a GIRO deduction?

2. It is also stated that the credit card will be charged 5 business days prior to the "Payment Due Date" entered. Is this fairly consistent? Am trying to see how it will affect my credit card "Billing Cycle Min Spend" requirement and at the same time enjoy related savings bonus interest based on calendar month.

I wrote to CardUp team 2 days ago to clarify on some other matters and at the same time ask them about paying my Income Tax via Cardup (currently on GIRO monthly deduction). This is reply from CardUp

We have been in touched with IRAS recently in regards to tax payments via CardUp.

They have reiterated that for tax instalment payments specifically, the only way to pay these in this way is via your existing GIRO arrangement.

Please kindly note that CardUp does not offer instalment plans that are currently offered by the banks nor are we an alternative to the GIRO instalment plan offered by IRAS. If you would like to use CardUp to pay for your taxes, we are only able to process one off payment and you would need to settle all your outstanding tax by the due date given by IRAS.
