ok so i was thinking about this last night - usually e phanteks case has a nice positive airflow due to 2 intakes n 1 exhaust fan

however, if i install an A80 at the top as exhaust, wont that change the airflow to be negative? any bros here with e case n AIO cooler can give advice?

how come you don't want to install as intake?

means e a80 i flip e fans to change to intake instead of exhaust? hmm.. wont that mean a lot of air coming in with 4 x 140mm fans intake, n only 1 140mm exhaust?

also, top of e casing has no filter right? a lot of dust will enter due to e high positive airflow?

what fans are you on? it shouldn't be a problem if they are static pressure fans

Anyway, positive airflow is suppose to keep dust out

if you are still worried you can always procure a filter from DEMC

best to do some reading up on positive / negative airflow, chances are you'll find that there is no conclusive evidence so i say do what you are comfortable with. one thing for sure is that unless your casing is very big, the physics of convection is moot in a CPU case setting

i havent got e case n cooler yet.. will do so when i get my new rig later in e year.. will be using e fans that phanteks n cryorig provide with e casing n cooler

yeah i know positive air flow keeps e dust out, but only if there are filters right?

hmm DEMC? do they sell filters for e phanteks?

edit: i also see a lot of bros here using e casing with AIOs like corsair, so want to know how they have configured their fans too

you can always customize the filters from DEMC, but you can check it out yourself

regardless how well it's setup, you'll still need to clean it up once in awhile, it's just the frequency in which you need to do so :s13:

true la.. but having dust filters on whatever intake always makes things easier to clean haha.. also better to have to clean less often mah

yup, personally using the DEMCfilters on my 650D, highly recommended

will be changing to the evolv next year

but note that the top intakes are covered so the filter will make the airflow even weaker, so a filter may not even be necessary

you can google the 650D's top intake, there are grills that provide better intake, whereas the Evolv is covered with little vents at the edges

Hope this video can help.

If you're comfortable, you can mount your radiator at the front.

You'll be taking in hotter air into your case though, cause the air is used to cool the radiator before entering your case "atmosphere".

ya thats e prob lor.. so i wont do it that way.. mount on e top looks better to me also haha

edit: i seen e video too.. that was how i was intending to set up as well.. only problem is that by setting up that way, seems like negative airflow instead of positive? then a lot of dust will be coming in from other parts of e case rather than through e front right?

Seems to be so, considering all fans are running at same speed and taking in same amount of air.(edited). Negative airflow, air (and dust) will get suck in from all parts of casing that air can squeeze in, which may not have filter.

Another food for thought:

I agree radiator looks better too haha.

Edited:

You could play around with the speed of your fans to achieve positive air flow too.

This dude have 5 exhaust fans and 3 intake fans.

*do note their ambience temp are like 24 deg Celsius.
