I see more of my neighbours' car putting on PHV labels. Since PHV is picking up and it is not so difficult to make $1-2k (net) a month, I believe there will still be demand for cars.

The Nov quota onwards will drop as 1/3 quota is allocated to first 3 months and 2/3 quota is allocated to the next 9 months. Hence, COE may soften a bit towards October but it should not crash and should sustain/increase thereafter.

Maybe using phv can loan up to 10 years.... As it is for commercial uses...

Lol most dealers already increase their car prices and even those second hand shamelessly increase theirs also....if sinkies smart dunch buy then they will starve but sinkies love to be suckers so increase 3-5k also juz rush to buy to have their set of wheels on teh road only to feel being a sucker 6 months later

If dealers increase the price of cars and yet demand stays higher than supply of COE, this means the price is set right. If demand is weak, no buyer, COE will just drop.

That move probably means demand is still higher than supply.

Manipulation is a funny word.

the medium income earners can take 70% loan too so demand will not drop much too.

Actually the 30-40% down payment era did see coe drop a lot , and lots of coe renewal car . But now a lot of dealers are offering 100% car loan with high interest and take up rate is very good . Actually to be frank car owners 60% At least don’t even have the money to pay for 30-40% down payment of the car . And market is not as rosy as you think , that why most dealers are offering the 100% car loan now to have buyer

100% loan is really a killer, interest itself is almost 50% of the car price for 10 years

Unless you take company loan then about 4% but might as well lease

Based on the increase quota I think might end up the same as last round. Increase of 300-600$ for CAT A expected.

tiagong they are artificially trying to maintain teh coe levels ? before phase 2 majority of teh dealers expected to drop below 20k but due to backlog it did notch...and now they still purposely “cut” juz to try and maintain....those go topup to getch coe already played into teh dealers hands
