I dunno about Taiwan's law and how their government works but this illegal building of Lai is really getting to the point of being freaking ridiculous.
1. Lai is current Vice President, shouldn't he as VP upheld the very basic principles of law in Taiwan?
2. Wtf is current president Cai doing about her VP disregarding the law? Why is the president keeping quiet?
3. I understand Lai property under the jurisdiction of Taipei, why isn't the mayor or relevant authorities doing anything or taking action? Illegal building just ignore or act blur because it belongs to the VP? Wtf they dun even adhere to the basic rule of the law... Like that still can be candidate for president??? Really taiwanese reasoning and acceptance of politicians doing things illegally and double standards of laws being applied is beyond me

It's not about keeping quiet or just harping about Lai illegal building, it's how come not 1 single authorities and even the current President taking any actions. And how could 23m taiwanese put up with their current VP breaking the law

True story. My Taiwanese friend told me Taiwan has no hope. That’s the reality on ground.

Actually this election is not fair..

The winner will have less than 50% support of the people. Is not a majority.

The better way is to have a 2nd round if no party can get 50% + 1 vote.

Imagine lai wins with 35% vote while the other 2 got 30+%, so lai governs with only 1/3 of the population support, this is not democracy right? Governing with 1/3 support.. hmm

Same applies to our own election lo.. next time we may face the same thing, pap may get 40% while 2 opposition parties get 30% each
