Yeah the phone app for Dell is sort of laggy and buggy sometimes

Using custom rom will enhance your streak experience, just my 2cents.

agreed. i never look back after flashed with StreakDroid 1.9.1. responsive no lag anymore, even with SPB 3D shell.

Any Singtel Streak users? Anyone managed to use the Amped and Mobile TV (both Singtel apps) on the Dell Streak? I am not able to do so. Can advise how to resolve this ?

Wifi connection issue

Just bought a Streak from Challenger.
Experiencing an issue with the device not being able to detect my home wifi network (starhub modem w dlink 615 router).
Realised it doesn't detect all available networks at my workplace too.

Did anyone encounter the same issue and did you manage to resolve it? Thks

Hmmm never have that issue, in fact my streak can detect most wifi network compare to my friend's iphone.

But i use custom rom (operating system of android) for my streak.

Anyway, at least I managed to get the device to detect my home network by changing the SSID name and security setting, so perhaps it's the way the device communicates with the router.

I had the same problem too, solved it with factory reset.
when i open whats app for the 1st time, it prompt if i wanted to put a shortcut in main page, as i haven change launcher at that time ( dell stage launcher ), so there is no space. I think that have cause dell launcher to crash & fail.
Im using whats app now with no problem.

Thanks for sharing this, i just got a factory replace set from Dell today, everything was fine until it repeating show error message of "process com.dell.launcher has stopped" so helpless until i have to factory reset everything to get it to work properly.
I also confirm whatapps is causing this problem although my previous set don't have this error. after untick the create short cut during 1st run have finally put this error to an end. hope i can finally enjoy this phone, thanks again

This Streak Lite rom is very stable

It is a simple process : first install recovery than flash the rom zip[ from recovery

Anyone using WhatsApp & Viber on Streak?

Hi Im fairly new with Streak and in this forum.

I've read a couple of pages back about the few of us here who got "com.dell.launcher has stopped unexpectedly" after installing WhatsApp.
I got the same too a few weeks ago & did a factory reset.
Just minutes ago, my brother downloaded & installed VIBER and once again, it gave me the same prompt -> "com.dell.launcher has stopped unexpectedly"
Kinda annoying

1) Is there anyway to stop that prompt without doing factory/hard reset?
2) Is it that we cannot install WhatsApp & Viber on streak?
3) Anyone of you here using the two Apps above without any problems?

Hmm i never have problems with whatsapp on my streak.

But am currently running custom rom - streakdroid 1.9.1

Maybe can try installing other launchers like LauncherPro, ADW or Zeam to name a few and see if it helps with that problem?

Dell Stage UI is laggy, you will get better experience changing to those custom launchers.

@momoiro first time i installed whatsapp, it also went on a error loop for the dell launcher.

you just have to replace it with another launcher. go to market.android[dot]com and find a launcher there. install from your browser. when installation is done, you should have a popup asking which launcher you want to use. choose the new launcher and remember to tick that as default.

After that, you might want to try rooting with gingerbreak and remove the dell launcher. hope it helps

also... challenger does not carry dell streak anymore. no wonder they priced $538 in june, clearing stock i guess. i checked mustafa, $650 no stock as well.
