Google Nest Hello doorbell.

s-l1600.jpg

It is wired.

Works like charm, no need to think about workarounds to do this or that for third party one with google nest hub and google nest hub max.

i got qns on this nest hello.

Need to register a nest account for the cam to work? Need US address? And the video storage is on cloud only? And have to pay for the service? No local storage option?

Hi has anyone bought the Eufy Video Doorbell (Battery-Powered) off Amazon US? Is the Homebase unit voltage compatible with Singapore? I intend to use the doorbell unit in battery mode.

Amazon US seems to be selling it at a discount currently - only USD139.99.

I see.

Buy direct. Check with their customer service live chat.

Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Battery-Powered) US$$199.99 excluding shipping

Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) Promo US$159.99 excluding shipping

BTW, the battery-powered one does wire too.

Check DIY videos on YouTube. Tons of them. Except the wiring bit I can’t find.

Ending in 3 days. Blurams - Always Ready AI-Fueled Smart Doorbell I think I will skip. I prefer local storage to cloud ones. I was leaning to Nest Hello. But now, towards Eufy. Waiting for reviews from locals.

They don't have option to ship internationally to s

Not sure whether u are able to manage to get it ship from US to Singaopore thru by the customer service.

I only know the input is 12V 2A.

Thanks. I can also get it from the Amazon UK store and the UK version would have confirmed electrical compatibility with Singapore, but it costs more than a hundred dollars more :p

Can the Nest Hello do live view on demand on Nest Hub without any subscription? I just want to see whoever is outside my house as and when I need to. Don’t need to wait for anyone to press the doorbell to have a live view.

If no subscription, the Nest Hello does zero recordings? Not even like 15 seconds clip on the cloud?

1) Yes
You can stream Nest Hello ( or their Nest cam / IQ ) onto Nest Hub / Chromecast / Chromecast embedded devices.

Hey/ok google, Show [Camera Name] if you are directly speaking to Nest Hub, or

Hey/ok google, Show [camera name] on [Chromecast device name] if you want to stream onto target display.

2) Actually I am not too sure. I have always been on their subscription. They do send snapshots of events onto email but not sure if useful.

Thanks!

1. Good to know. I was watching a YouTube review and some reviewer said it’s useless without a plan.

2. I did ask Google Home support staff on this before. The staff wasn’t sure. The snapshots are pictures or videos?

Finally wired up my 2k eufy doorbell which is powered by the step down adapter.

I received doorbell pressed notifications on my phone almost instantly and
Live view is lagged by 1 to 2 sec which I expected.

Try the motion detecter function also but in the end choose to switch it off as i don't find it is necessary unless my delivery left the parcel outside my unit. Actually most of the reviews of this doorbell we seen in youtude were quite accurately described in it.

Take note of the mounting height. As i wanted the doorbell to be as closed as my old doorbell position due to the wiring. I have no choice but ended up about 1.45m above the ground. I find that is a bit high. The recommended height is 1.2m only.

There is a function turn on led at night on the button which I tried but it seem doesn't work anymore after the software update.

When I received the product. The indoor unit chime doesn't work at all. So I contact the seller and they managed to send me a replacement within 3 days as the product is under warranty for 1 year.

Best thing about this doorbell is don't have to subscribe or pay any cloud service.

I got my eufy wired from lazada at $299 (local seller) and also got the power adapter from the same seller for $20++. If u Google search power adapter for doorbell for nest, ring, eufy etc. U can get the same for $11 from those China seller.

Yes. U need the step-down to make it work. The requirement voltage for the door bell is much lower

Thanks bro, this means you had to find a socket near the door to plug in the power adapter right?

I saw one seller on shopee selling a 5m power adapter

My "original" doorbell wire is already provided by the hdb. I just tap it thru the kitchen doorbell point using the step down adapter u mentioned. Last time I thought the doorbell wire is "live", actually it is just a pair of wire only. Last time my indoor doorbell chime is using powered up by battery.

Notification received from doorbell thru my phone eufy app is almost instant if I choose the text only option. Eufy doorbell has 3 type of notifications, another is text and thumbnail and last is text 1st followed by thumbnail. So far I only tested the text notifications at home. Not so sure the real scenario where I am elsewhere and someone ring the bell. Live feed video is lagging of 1 to 2 sec.
