Door bell with camera recommendations

Notification received from doorbell thru my phone eufy app is almost instant if I choose the text only option. Eufy doorbell has 3 type of notifications, another is text and thumbnail and last is text 1st followed by thumbnail. So far I only tested the text notifications at home. Not so sure the real scenario where I am elsewhere and someone ring the bell. Live feed video is lagging of 1 to 2 sec.

Eufy doorbell comes with a self storage of 4GB. It will overwrite once the full storage used up. 1 short video is about 30++ seconds. It take up 1 to 2 % of the storage size.

I simply bought a transformer that is specified to work with it (mine is Ring Pro). Don’t even need electrician.

My setup is electrical socket > 240 to 110v > transformer > Ring

Hey guys, what do you guys use to cover the hole of your doorbell after replacing with the nest?

Don't make the same mistake as me.

Maybe I have to get a pro who know exactly in what need to be done to the old existing doorbell hole and install a doorbell bracket

I tried to DIY with fill and fix foam and after that applied the wall punty. It is my 1st time doing and turn out very ugly. Then big mistake is when I start to drill in the screw bracket for the doorbell. I just realised the filling foam and the putty unable to hold it. In the end, removed the filling foam and putty, covered the old hdb doorbell with the standard blank cover. Make another small little hole to pull the wire from the side. Drill the door bell screw bracket beside it on the concrete wall.

Just wanted to update that I bought the Eufy 2K video doorbell (battery operated) from Amazon UK. Managed to get it when it was listed on the Amazon Renewed store, so the price was considerably cheaper than usual retail. Battery life is now at 95% after 18 days of use (motion detection not enabled as my flat faces a neighbour's). This is a much better experience than my previous Ring 2 which needed a swap of batteries every 7-9 days even with motion detection turned off.

Yeah I went DIY shop wanting to buy a larger acrylic panel to cover then ownself drill. But they only sell the 10by10 blank cover. Gonna drill later.

I’m thinking of getting one too. Do you need drilling on your door?
How does it work if no motion sensor? Camera activated only when someone press bell?

For the bros here that plan to use US based 8v doorbells, I was playing with Netatmo's configurator and thought of using the 'approved doorbells' so that we can ask our electrician to install.

What do you guys think of this? it comes with an Integrated 8 V transformer.

I’ve shortlisted the Eufy doorbell too. Just curious, why did you decide to buy from Amazon when eufy is sold locally? Is it just the price?

You need to buy the global version. The china version is geolock just like some of the Xiao Mi doorbell.

I got my eufy wired from lazada at $299 (local seller) and also got the power adapter from the same seller for $20++. If u Google search power adapter for doorbell for nest, ring, eufy etc. U can get the same for $11 from those China seller.

Yes. U need the step-down to make it work. The requirement voltage for the door bell is much lower
