Door bell with camera recommendations

Used TAPO for 1 year already. Damn good. Movement also alert you. Press doorbell can talk to person. Can record preset messages

Ard there. The battery one day 1 percent reduce. So every 3 mths maybe need to charge for few hours. But easy to install and easy to take out and charge

What I like also is that it is quick enough to capture motion for ppl who is walking pass corridor.

Sensitivity is quick & good (within split second from detection to recording)

The only con, sometimes it takes several secs loading to connect to livecam via app in order to comms with courier etc (might be due to network)
And also Rich Notifications requires subscription

there's 2 part, the doorbell and the hub/chime.
Doorbell can set on/off, volume, led light, flash light, scheduled app notifications
Hub/chime can set on/off/scheduled, volume, tone

Can the door chime be turned off at night?

U can set the volume as well as the type of chime u want. Worse case, don't install the doorbell. Install the camera only

I read the camera had to be used with the hub/ chime.

yes the chime/hub acts as gateway aka "router" to the doorbell i.e Router Wifi <-> Hub <-> Doorbell. sdcard storage is on the hub too.
anyway yep can turn off/mute chime on the hub

Am trying to make a decision. Seems quite hard due to my mischievous neighbours. Not sure if they'll remove my doorbell in the middle of the night

didnt install a TAPO or google doorbell because cant see what is in front of my doorstep
And my lift/walkway/corridor is not in front of the door, so the doorbell camera needs to be tilt in an awkward manner to be useful

so i installed a battery camera instead
very small and light, just double-side tape to the top of my gate

But battery life is short (~3 weeks) and unable to communicate with visitors
i use a powerbank to charge it (leave it plugged in)

my main purpose is to be alerted when someone is at my door/left a parcel at my door

My doorbell is damaged when I was in overseas , came back and saw it as if someone gave a hard punch on it.

My unit is the only one which install a doorbell cam.

99% router issues, doesn't even have external antenna. Your signal will just be overpowered by neighbours wifi. 2.4ghz is extremely crowded for most places.

Ur doorbell cam managed to capture the person that did that ?
