haha i think underage charge dollar $25 vs hertz $15, dollar still overall cheaper. at first wanna rent from avis which is $25 also. calculated that avis will be cheaper than hertz.

have you rented from dollar before? any problems?

rented 2-3 times before no issue.
if car break down blame it on the manufacturer! :D

what's avis rates compared with dollar or hertz?

4 Days just the LDW+tax+vehicle license+unlimited miles (excluding LSI):

avis grp B (chevrolet cobalt or simliar): 284
hertz chevrolet cobalt: 329

dollar (ford focus or similar): 140.62 (platinum rate)

do the rates also depend on the rental location?

Haha just tried 1 week rental in toronto,
Dollar ford focus or simliar: 367 (inclusive) 438 (platinum)
avis chev cobalt or simliar: 356 (equivalent to dollar's inclusive)
hertz nissan sentra or similar: 350 (equivalent to dollar's inclusive)

avis+dollar $25/day underage charge
hertz $15/day underage charge

my spouse own a sentra and U are not going to fit three 28" suitcase in that thing.
after putting a 28" suitcase U can fit two 40L backpack and a smaller 22-24" suitecase. unless u thinking to put stuff on the seats

my Altima is larger still it would not fit 3 full size 28" suitecase. 2 is possible and leaves room for 2-3 backpacks.

when I travelled with 3 ladies driving a Buick, my truck and all the seats (driver seat is safe!) are packed with stuff! I should have rented a full size SUV back then.

depending how much driving you gals will be doing....it could get pretty uncomfortable if the seats are all taken up by your shopping bags!

when my 4 galfrens came to visit me....we rented a 7-seater caravan and we still had some problems with all the suitcases and shopping bags (my gawd...don't even remind me about it!) :)

@erwinlow.....you neber stay long enough.....if you did, you'd be complaining about US food and probably can't wait to get back to singapore to eat all the real yummy stuffs! you can only eat so much western food/fast food....after awhile....they all taste the same.

Cormet: I flew from sf - vegas, then vegas - la. Stayed at best western hollywood plaza inn. Then at holiday inn express @ anaheim.

Heh maybe! Foodcourts have those chinese store and they always sell orange chicken. Not too bad actually!

Tried all the old hawker that I knew it was once good or claimed to be good by TV programs, standard really drop.
hawker how to be healthy!!! Char Kway Teow sign.. the cockles so tiny today.
Oyster omelet also too healthy today.
what makes my trip back to SG worthwhile is all the durian I makan!
