i read there are facial biometric ID auto gate since Dec 2024 though didn't see one since used egate for my last trip (before may 2025)

If you referring to eGate like SG's, it's been there since last year leh, have utilised it every time I was there since 2024 IIRC.
Now only need to try eGate again after this new TDAC implementation.
even if they flip, at least make an official announcement mahbefore that. last year I’m able to use eGate without any obstacles.
