The guy, just double check.

I had also encountered beng shop wanna charge me a few dollars helping to activate line after collecting sim card over the counter too. I told the beng off and reported to my MVNOs too.

Wanna play punk with a serial porter likes me. Tan ku ku! 🤭

The simba beng shop i went to apply sim card no problem. Got good ones but the bad eggs spoil the over experience.

How can I determine if the port has started?

Are there any SMS or email messages that indicate tonight (for example) that it will start or something to indicate that the port is completed? Other than waiting for the old SIM card to lose network connectivity?

Just ported from SIMBA to eight yesterday (Saturday), using eSIM. QR code was immediate and got a temporary number.

SIMBA terminated the number immediately on the same day around midnight, but my eSIM is still not activated yet.

Can anyone help confirm:
1. eight will port in only on business day? Or is my eSIM got problem need to reset network settings (iPhone)
2. will eight will send an email / SMS to confirm? if SMS is sent to ported number, then phone may be cannot receive due to esim config problem.

Also I was checking out Hock mobile on Lazada to top up. What is the difference between Main Balance and Recharge Plan??

Thanks of the help

I have a weird issue. After using Eight sim card for a couple of months on my spare phone, of late this phone cannot receive or make calls in/out. Data has no issue. I tested with zero1 and m1 sim cards all no problem. tested the Eight sim card on other phones, also able to make in/out calls am use data.

Any ideas? Using xiaomi 9 for this.

Contemplating to port out to vivifi because of this issue.

Hi, I just ported over some numbers. The SIM cards will be delivered to me. I just want to double confirm that my number with the old telecom will only be ported/inactive after I activate the new SIM cards. The ported process will be within 2 days after I activated?

Correct?

OK I found out the answer. The port happened on the same day; I ported 2 numbers to eight this on a Saturday afternoon before 6pm (5.10pm), and the line was terminated at Simba's end at 11pm. A number I ported after 6pm (6.07pm) was not ported at 11pm, so there must be a cut off at 6pm.

There is no message from eight either SMS or email that the port is successful. I assume the transition was when the previous telco terminated the previous line (I received a message from SIMBA to say the line was terminated).

Hope this helps someone at the later stage for someone who ports in.
Previous Setup: iOS 18, physical SIM simba

After I received the termination SMS, I immediately popped up the SIMBA physical SIM. This caused several issues on iMessage/ Contacts as the eSIM profile was tied to temporary number eight issued. This is how I fixed it:

1. Don't remove the physical SIM first. If you have done so, Insert back the physical SIM (never mind it has no number now)
2. Go to Settings->Cellular->Starhub
3. Go to My Number
4. Change the number from the temporary SIM to your ported number. Save.
5. Remove your old physical SIM.

What are you talking about? It's $8, if retailer charges you more than $8. Please report to eight about the errand retailer. I've reported 2 shops to eight to deal with them.
As per my previous message, the SIM is free. Only pay for the plan.

Nothing wrong right?
