31Jul - Applied online (Port-in)
10Aug - Received sim card and activated (Temp no.), line working.
16Aug - Never receive any official notification on the port-in status. Want to login to eight account on their web but the OTP is either not coming or coming in at a super delayed manner so cannot log-in haha. Sent them an email.

edit: 18Aug - Just tried to push for OTP via eight website to access my account on my port-in number, managed to receive :) And my port in number also no more tied to the old telco. Guess is all done.

Damn. This eight upload speed is really slow, just now when want to do upload photos on getgo app, so slow. Simba even much faster upload than eight. Irritating

you may want to consider to jump back to simba. no contract mah

Found this from Eight's FAQ

Does roaming covers calls and SMS?

Our plans do include 288mins roaming calls back to Singapore and at the destination you roam at! For SMS, there will be no issues to receive OTP but our plans do not include outgoing SMS at the moment.

Incoming
international sms cannot receive from everywhere including singapore.
Outgoing sms i know cannot coz not supported.

no idea. maybe they don't support. but again $8 nia. cannot expect both best world. not many will use international sms mah. you may want to consider jump back to simba.

nothing to laugh about. is individual needs. I used to be with starhub 20 years. no issue for me as I'm low usage. now with eight also no issue. I'm happy with it especially the 8gb roaming where I need

go for telco where can meet your needs. if simba good. stay with them. or can consider zym or heya or m1. many to choose. every mvno is different. Best of all no contract we can anytime jump to another telco. no issue

No lah i will stick to eight coz I need to receive incoming calls when i am overseas. Simba is a backup and have the same functionality (fat roaming and outgoing call while overseas)

receiving sms is basic. But blanket ban on receiving international sms is quite unusual when I don’t even enable to block.

You are right, not many have the same need to receive international sms for OTP.

My only solution is to update all to my simba number which I have kicked start the process which takes time. 😑

if one day my needs change, i also may jump out of eight
roaming to me is more important as i travel often.. so if other mvno can offer higher data for roaming and with almost same pricing as eight and their network good, i may port over

M1 has just upped the ante. How?
No receiving calls when overseas with generous idd allowance is a no-no for me

yes, but m1 price is $9.90, the 7.90 is i think promo, not forever
will monitor, but for now eight works for me, so will stay with them
lets see other mnvo got what offer but again depends on your area lah.. Starhub/Eight works for me in my area..

Travel often, good to have spare line/s.
No lah.. dont like to manage so many line
My mainline already under usage liao, why need another line? Not workable for me
If need roaming, just buy roaming data using esim, its very cheap, can use coins to offset :spin:
I got wifi at my accommodation, no problem at all.
before eight, i bought roaming data from shopee, cheap cheap and connection very good
