Bundled roaming only covers group A.
Nepal is group D, you will need to purchase add on, and the price is very high.

Interestingly Nepal is under Simba's group A, which is included in the plan.
Oh
..thank you. Now I understand.

For new # line sign up, the 30 days start counting from the day you signed up or the day you get the physical sim card assusming you choose to have it mail to you?

30 days start from the day you activate the line after receiving the card.

Saw a number which is nice in my view and subscribed immediately. xxxA xxxB where x is the same numbers

disclaimer: one man meat is another man poison
Many potential good numbers, depending what you're looking for.

Can eight allow consolidation of 3 or more mobile line into 1 account?
AFAIK, nope.

Agree. I managed to get a number with phonewords based on my initials.

On the consolidation of numbers under 1 acc, in their app just below the eight logo, you can see the mobile number being redacted and being shown from a drop down list/box. I'm under the impression that if I have another eight number I can select that number from the drop down lol

Already stated in FAQ. Better to just head down, unless someone else comes in with their own experience.
  • Can I switch my eSIM profile to another device?
    • Please head down to our service centre located here with the original ID that was used for the sign up. A new QR code will be provided. Please use the QR code to link to the new device. Currently, we do not charge any fee for this.
Unless you want be the "special" person who does this.
  • "OH NO"I accidentally removed my eSIM, how can I restore my eSIM?
    • Oh no! Your eSIM is one-time use and will not be re-downloadable. Please provide the following for authentication at helpme@eight.com.sg and we will generate the QR for you:
    • Name as per NRIC
    • Last 4 digits of NRIC
    • Telco where you ported from (applicable only if you are porting in)
    • Date of Birth
    • Date of transaction
    • Eight mobile number
    • Email address with registration:
That’s why I was curious why they would be able to do digital for one but not the other. I don’t mind paying, just make it convenient for me.

After the Giga account takeover saga, many MVNOs are now paranoid and you will need to physically go down to the service centre to prove your identity.
That’s a bummer, seems like there are better ways to manage this

There certainly are, however MVNOs are paranoid about protecting themselves.

As long as people are aware that eSIMs may look convenient on the surface, but dig deeper and understand the caveats as well as account takeover risks.

Think about what happens if you need to change phone. For Eight, you would need to request for another eSIM, and that *will* require you to physically go down to their service center, according to their FAQ.

And if in the process of convenience, your account gets taken over (due to lack of identity checks, or slack checks) and you find that all of your money is gone from your bank account because the threat actor managed to get your bank OTP SMS. What now?

This is a hypothetical situation which unfortunately was a reality for the giga victim.

Anyone tried changing between plans? I was thinking of getting the 11+ plan for one month before going back to the 8 dollar plan. Will the system automatically continue the 8 dollar plan after I change back to the 8 dollar plan?

I support all telcos to require to go down physically to shop to request another eSIMs. Too many scammers nowaday. I rather have that inconvienece

I never use eSIM for primary line. Too inconvenient. Eight plan is secondary line. So use eSIM

Think doable if you choose $8 eight plan in next renewal after you upgrade to $11 plan.

plan to upgrade to $11 and then downgrade back to $8 plan. Based on sharing on forum, it is doable

Yes, if change phone have to go down to their service centre to get a new eSIM. End up I go to their service centre and request to convert to a physical SIM instead.

Personally I think physical sim is the better choice for primary lines.
esim is a good choice for quick deployment use like travel sim or remote deployment.
But swapping sim for phone change or failure is much more reliable.

Never understood Apple's esim only iphones (in US).
