i did say i have the same issue, didn't i?

You compared it VIVIFI?
And i can't ask you to understand maybe it could be starhub problem instead?

Look, i am not here to fight nor saying eight is perfect like some other guy that was recently active on here. Eight roaming has issues long ago with Edge network connectivity and no signal and i agree with that.

I can verify Zero1 (Singtel) have no issues roaming in Malaysia. My M1 Maxx and Eight (Starhub) lines have trouble connecting specifically to CelcomDigi and stuck on EDGE.

You can mitigate this by connecting manually to Maxis/U Mobile network instead.

But airplane mode isn't enabled in your screenshot. There is no SIM status to display if airplane mode is on, so you can't wifi call anyway

That is a picture I pull off the internet to show you what it looks like.
Wifi calling is meant to work without cellular, so you can be sure that it is not dependent on reception.
On iOS you actually need airplane mode for it to work unless you are in a location with poor reception, since iOS prefers cellular over wifi for voice connection. On Android you can select your preference.

I am have been using it for 4 years for work related calls so I can be sure it does works well.
If you choose not to believe that is your freedom.

Some example of what you should see with airplane mode :

you dont need airplane mode for wifi calling to work on IOS. i've seen wifi calling showing on my iphone when the cellular reception was quite bad (1 bar).

I tested in situation where I have decent cellular reception, so apparently there are other activation conditions.

Anybody went to JB recently?
My phone can hardly connect at R&F mall, tried to manually connect to other telco also cannot.

I walked back to JB Sentral, more than halfway back then I could see 4G.

no service a few times today. so it's normal for eight.

Anybody encountered iMessage activation issue after iOS 26 update? My line suddenly deactivated from iMessage after updated to iOS 26 and failed to activate after few days attempting
Line never deactivated during update process other than iMessage auto deactivated itself, second active number not affected

Tried eight's APAC roaming in Vietnam (HCMC) for first time and experience was pretty awful. 3G+ most of the time and only got 4G inside shopping malls. Speed is generally slow and laggy at all times.

It comes free with $8 plan oh wells..

My last week experience at Bangkok is faultless, I set both my phone to 4G only, lazy to test 5G. Always connected to True.

Realised my mother's simba also connected to True.

good data speed even at underground mrt moving train, aeroplane taxiing runway, didn't even bother to ask for the hotel wifi at all.

VN, especially HCMC, imho, has bad mobile coverage and performance.
same results over a variety of contemporary phones and telcos (not just MVNO).

had experienced similar performance on locally purchased Viettel, Vinaphone, mobifone (MVNO of Vietnamobile?) SIMs over past 12-18 months.
