This rings a bell.
Zym replied my email saying Eight's failure port-out message was due to my line was inactive, but my line was VERY active to port-out
eight sux :s13:
They probably gave the same reason for all of us. My line was active but in ZYM email, port rejection is due to line is not active.

I've shared what happened few months back when I wanted to port a line out.

Lost count of emails with no reply or unrelated one/s. Then I visited Punggol and was put on a video call, with "will forward to backend and reply in a couple of days" and of course, no sound no picture. The staff there cannot do anything other than set up those video calls. Don't bother going there anymore.

Until I visited Clementi and was fortunate that the knowledgeable and helpful friendly kakak was there to help me check with them. Email from her came as promised that it'd be solved.

By the time the port over finally happened, I already had my email to IMDA drafted out.

Then... string of silly email "replies" started pouring in for those numerous ones I sent earlier.

I've moved all my important numbers out already.

Like I've said, I feel the original bunch of staff are all gone already. Leftover bunch of (mostly) CMI manning the emails.
For my case, I went to the service center in Punggol coast at 11am and the nice staff is able to check the issue on their system on the spot. But they will still need to raise it to their backend team to resolve my porting problem.

My eight plan still haven reach 1 month. Think of porting out withjn the first month. But after reading all the posts here, seem like Eight is making difficult to port out.
You gotta keep your finger crossed. Just head to eight service center if the porting fail. The agent there should be able to check for the issue in their system.

I stayed for 14 days and before successfully ported to Zym.

Silly me, when port-out failed, i topped up $8 and downgraded my plan from 5G basic $10.80 to $8 thinking they need me to pay for next month's subscription. :s13:

Zym said port rejection message is line/number is inactive.
Eight said nothing is blocking, until clementi lady said got earmark and requested to remove for me.

Side track a bit.

EU replaceable battery requirement will be implementing next year.

However, there are exemption on replaceable battery for phones – the phone should be rated at least IP67 and the battery should retain at least 83% of its original capacity after 500 charge cycles or at least 80% after 1,000 cycles. For such phones, the battery may be replaceable only by professionals. This covers most modern flagships and plenty of mid-rangers.

So it seems most of the higher price phones will be status quos and not much adjustment required. For the lower tier phones, it will be interesting to see new launches of replaceable battery phones (whether the back cover is easy to ply open or still require tool), thrill to know.

Damn, so mine is not isolated incident.

also in VN. Auto connect to Vinaphone.
suddenly on day 3, locked out when grab car was about 1 min away. (signal disappeared)
fortunately, i had Simba in SIM slot 2.
rest of trip, could not connect. Signal bar "triangle" all hollow
apps like "NetMonster" showed no cells available.
Restart phone, same problem.
Come back SG, connect no problem.

Next trip 2 weeks later, once landed in HCMC, same thing.
Simba can connect, eight shows no cells available, cannot connect.
Now awaiting resolution.

A few weeks ago, my number was flagged for porting out by Eight, and Zym tried five times to port it without success. The email responses that I got said there was no blockage, but the porting still did not go through. This is after a visit to a service centre in Eight's Pasir Ris interchange service centre, and also a visit to Zym's HQ, both on same Friday.

Nothing happened over the weekend.

on Monday, I went to the Clementi service centre, a Malay lady, took over the case, checked with her backend team, and found that my number had been earmarked for porting. She asked them to remove the flag, and after that, Zym was able to port my number successfully on Tuesday around 11pm.

m1 did this to me some years back. I had to pay another month sub to re-try. (this was on the "m card", before maxx)
port out again, still fail.
resolved only when i escalated to (then) IDA.
next day, m1 allowed the port-out.

Actually had this **** happened to me when I was in Germany last year, just that I thought was just a random thing

Anything longer than 2-3 days, I will get forbidden from the local operator there then it will work the day after.

Smae **** happened in Malaysia as well

eight shows no cells available, cannot connect.
I got to disable the auto select and keep trying while it says forbidden. Took me 3 tries the next day to successfully connect back

Luckily I was in a group and could borrow hotspot to purchase esim:confused:

Actually what resolution can eight do when their roaming partner naughty ? First they know you will have limited time to contact Eight, while overseas need to get stable wifi connection. Second by the time they respond, you might already be on your way back to SG

Tested at the same spot in Bolehland at two different timings.

I guess there is still throttling of speed ((again at 5Mbps+_)

just could not confirm the trigger point. Probably after used up certain amount of roaming data per day.
