Btw Singapore, Malaysia and the UK are actually outliers as far as plugs go.
We are some of the VERY VERY few countries that put fuses in the plug.
The vast majority of countries do not do this.
US, Australia, China, EU all do not have fused plugs for their small home appliances.
In EU, Germany and France are even worse. Their CEE type F/G connectors don't have neutral/live differentiation and can be installed either way. Often the wall socket doesn't even have a switch.
Getting this information right can really cause the brain to swell.
Btw this is one reason why audiophiles like to use US plugs on their equipment. Taking the fuse and switch out apparently makes for better listening
