Any knows or rem how to compute amperage for 3 phase? Say power rating on the machine is 15 kw. :(
Usually home appliance will have a AC to DC converter. On the DC supply to the electronics, it’s usually 24VDC. Just divide kw with Voltage to get amps drawn. Btw 15kW for home appliance is impossible. Even your big appliance like fridge or aircon the most is just few hundred watts

Smells like a chop carrot to me.

Assuming you already have 3 phase incoming, and the incoming DB has sufficient capacity...

A 3ph 32 isolator (cheap) and MCB+ELCB will cost at most $1k total if you use branded parts. You may also need MOV surge protection if the installation is outdoor.

The most expensive part is probably the 4.0mm2 5core cable if the distance run is long.

The rest is their labour and trivial materials like trunking. You should get a few ITEMIZED quotations before deciding on a provider.

Edit: Took out "RCBO" as it does not make sense putting an expensive RCBO on a single drop.
i am a noob at all these... :( but i also think 10k is costly man, though it isnt paid by me. do share if you have any contacts who can do all these for much lower. tia.

DIY is a bottomless pit. Just bought a Knipex hexagonal terminal crimp on ebay after being very impressed by the quality of the wire termination work the equipment I brought in from Germany,

Now slowly replacing all the twisted cockhair lighting terminations in my house one by one when I have the free time.

Just make a few cold calls, or maybe even ask the Tesla dealership to give some recommendations.

Btw the power equation you were looking for is

kW = (V × I × PF × 1.732) ÷ 1,000

Power factor PF set to 1 for a EV charger
V here is 400, not 415 like so many "DANGER" warnings say.

You get 22.1696 kW per the math with 32A TPN connection.

nowadays all the kids want to sit in aircon, wear nice nice, talk abt finance like warren buffett...

Wat do they know abt, watt, voltage and ohms?

Look at those kids doing tik tok and douyin.. do they know these?
You don't need to know all these if they are doing basic replacements. Change light, change switch, change light fitting. All these are very basic and you don't need to learn bout those terms la.

Btw Singapore, Malaysia and the UK are actually outliers as far as plugs go.
We are some of the VERY VERY few countries that put fuses in the plug.
The vast majority of countries do not do this.

US, Australia, China, EU all do not have fused plugs for their small home appliances.
In EU, Germany and France are even worse. Their CEE type F/G connectors don't have neutral/live differentiation and can be installed either way. Often the wall socket doesn't even have a switch.

Getting this information right can really cause the brain to swell.

Btw this is one reason why audiophiles like to use US plugs on their equipment. Taking the fuse and switch out apparently makes for better listening :)

Oic... How to determine the power factor? :( The constant 1.73 is sq root 3 correct?

Everyone should know basic electricity stuff..... At least know basic things like fuse, 3 colour coded wires, ampere, circuit breaker, types of plugs etc.....

This is not rocket science and super duper easy one leh.... Can save your life one day.

Me surprised that so many in this forum don't even know basic things like what is earth wire for, why water heaters should not use a standard 13A 3pin plug and why need different wire, why aircon plug is different from the usual one.
Many didn't know if own urine not sweet, you don't have diabetes

I agree it is a good knowledge to have to save some money on DIY.

For me I always wondered when it is easier to plug in 3-pin plugs to 3-pin sockets and I had difficulty plugging in 2-pin plugs. So I opened up one 3-pin plug to see the wiring. And after buying some 3-pin plugs from the value shops, I cut off some of the 2-pin plug and wired them to the 3-pin plug. But seldom do that nowadays cos of the availability of the 2-pin direct plugging feature in the recent extension cords which need not use tools to poke into the earth terminal of the 3-pin socket to plug in the 2-pin plug.

You can’t even comprehend a news article properly but wanna educate about common sense in electric?
