earlier today i had a chance to listen to it and....

i would personally agree that given at the price point and the performance.... the price/performance ratio of the X1 and Sansa Clip+/Zip would almost match each other.

X1 is definitely something you simply cannot just roll your eyes off. hear to believe.

Also, IIRC, the price for the X1 is SGD159.

While their SQ to price ratio may be the same, I will recommend the X1 over the Clips cos of other factors (e.g. got warranty which can be a safety net of sorts for newcomers, bigger screen, can scroll faster through song lists due to the wheel).

Of course, the Clips have their own selling point (e.g. being the smallest DAP that can play FLAC, RockBoxable which means many more benefits like being more usable for the visually-impaired)

And yes, first post fixed :o

Am just pumped at the many possibilities of pairing the X1 with the many amps out there, for a variety of sounds.

New budding audiophiles will have a great time ahead for them. Truly the X1 will open the doors to a great many possibilities. :D

Can someone explain to me what is the difference between this player and let's say, a iPod nano? Is there anything special to this or is it a normal audio player?

Does anyone feel the center button very flimsy?

Other than it.. I "felt" there's sound upgrade from my rockboxed ipod classic tho.

Is there a point to put MP3 songs in this player?

Even if I go down to the shop, the music they will have will be those loseless formats.

Reason why I am asking is the majority of my songs in my Ipod Classic are MP3 formats.

X1 uses micro sd card and no internal memory, so even if you buy it you will have to use your own micro sd card

so why don't you put your songs inside a micro sd card and bring it down to test it on the x1?

hope I am answering your question right =/

MP3 ripped from CDs with good recording quality is good enough to carry with the X1.

Saves quite a few $$$ on larger microSD cards.

Or just get multiple smaller microSD cards to swap out albums.

Just go audition it bah; remember, it is the synergy between the headphones/IEM that you are using and the Fiio X1 that will matter more than the format.

i.e. If the synergy between them is not what you like, you put FLAC, WAV, DSD or MP3 won't matter de

Mmm, another target! Yummy, chewy money gone all watery.

Anyone tried A10? For around $100 more, how is compared with A10?

Or, for the price range, X3 and A10?
