people don't mess around with you if you're pushing yourself harder than they are
but then the really thick skin ones are a different story

Yep overhand grip, i drop pretty fast down. But the pain only comes when i'm pulling up, not down.

He's definitely bigger size than me, not sure whether it's fats or muscles or a combi of both though.

From his bench, 12.5kg per side on smith machine, i'm not really intimidated by him though =S
If he bench 125kg total then yeh, LLST. I'll think twice lol.

And thanks btw =D

He can bench 5 plates a side but it does not give him the right to be an arse. Come to think of it I only had positive experiences with people larger than me, its usually the little pricks that have an attitude.

I think your pain is caused by your rapid descent. And you go all the way down right? As in you lock out your shoulders.[/QUOTE]

Nah not always. Happens only 20% of the time for each rep.
Usually just leave it around

Very true. Those benching like 30-40kg per side 1 usually very friendly 1.

Don't ignore the pain if you want lifting longevity.

You can minimise the pain by 1) switching to a neutral or underhand grip, 2) controlling your descent 3) not locking out fully at the bottom.

Good luck!

Bingo! I think i know why already.

1st one ALWAYS hurts, i don't know why.
And the last 3-7 reps i usually go down to lockout to rest abit.

Anyway, i will try controlling my descent next time i pullup =D

Thanks.

Who thinks benching 60kg is badass coz seldom in commercial gyms do you see someone put one wheel on each side. :D

Dude I do . Man these badasses jump off the elliptical/treadmill/stationary bike and load up 60kgs which to most is their 5 top half rep max weight and do a few sets of that. I start off using with just the bar for 2-5 sets hehe i'm wimpy.

Some people say resting at the bottom makes it easier. Others say doing so is harder as you have to start from a deadstop.

Some people say not locking out fully between reps makes it harder because you are maintaining tension on the targeted muscles. Others say doing so is easier as there is a shorter ROM.

The arguments go on...:D

I had a similar problem as well but it is usually at the tail end of a set and i could sometimes feel the shoulder shift a little so I am extra careful at the full stretch position making sure that I mantain some tension even when locking out. The thing that caused it is probably one of the rare times when my descent was not controlled probably when in a fatigued state.

$6 for a few small pieces of chicken is a waste of money. $6 can get you a protein-rich economical rice meal.

Does a plate of chicken rice add meat till $5 have more/less protein than cai png with 3 servings of chicken meat and some vege:s11:

db restricted to certain part of the gym - with 20kg dumbells no problem
no weighted pull up/dips - no problem
Only soundless deadlift allowed - do they have a vacuum chamber ?
no grunting- no problem
no chalk - no problem
no ipod/mp3 - no problem
no bare footed squat - no problem

Sign. =(

In any case i did bent over rows for 8 sloppy reps there previously with 3.5 pps, there was a lot of noise from the clanging of the plates and when i put the bar down -no one came over to reprimand me though
