Clubfitt's policies do change based on the following:
-general atmosphere in the gym. You guys know what I'm talking about, not all are the same.
-The attendants in charge.
-How well you know said attendants.
If I deadlift, I do it on Sundays, when an attendant I know well, who used to be a BBer, is on duty. He doesn't mind a little noise, though I suspect he'd tell me to cut it if I slammed every single rep.
In my gym, I grunt my a** off. When I bench, I usually set the weight back into the pins pretty hard. If I get called on it, I brush it off jokingly. Same goes for bumping DBs onto the floor, or letting plates drop when I unload them.
Two things help here:
-Following the rules the majority of the time. Don't be one of those guys that gets classified as a 'lunk'. Make an effort to not drop DBs and bars too hard.
-Getting to know the attendants a little. If you're going to a place regularly, this doesn't hurt. Help em rerack plates and Dbs occasionally, some small talk here and there. If they hound you, react friendly. You'll have to 'get out of the zone' to do it, if you're one of those guys that are very intense and focused, but it's better than having a guy tell you to STFU after every set.
