Hi, I am using a T4020. I noticed there was 1 dead pixel and immediately contact 8flags on the third day. They did a 1-to-1 exchange for me.

Shatz man, was your dead pixel in the centre of the screen? Cause I Amy from 8 Flags told me that replacement for 1 DeadPixel is only possible if it were in the centre.

But I guess now I can't take it back to 8 Flags cause its like 2 months old. Would Fujitsu Repair centre do anything for me?!

Thanks for the reply, Im quite troubled by this stupid dead pixel..

Acronis is preinstall and do not come with cd. Nothing you can do to install it back.
Anyway the installed version is not the full version.

so is there anyway to get it after we formatted the notebook?like going to the vendor or something?

Need any advise on reformatting Fujitsu laptop

Tried to reformat my Fujitsu laptop (C6571) by inserting the Fujitsu Product Recovery CD. Everythin went fine until.. After about 63% done, message appears saying, something may be wrong with the CD or CD-drive, cannot recover etc.. Tried to do it 3 times, but each time stops at 63%!! Now, computer cant even enter Windows. :s27:

What can I do at this stage? Since there seems to be a problem with the Product Recovery CD, can I just use a Windows XP install disc to reformat the laptop now? Or would it make it worse?

Help!! Thanks.

My dead pixel wasn't in the centre. In fact it was near to bottom left. I didn't think I was able to do a 1-to-1 exchange at first. Maybe you could give it a try and keep us posted on your outcome. Wish you luck!

Ok, I must do something about it. But firstly, do I go back to 8Flags? Cause Amy the manager is the one who told me it was not possible. And Secondly since it is already been 2 months, is 8Flags still responsible for my lappy? Or can only Fujitsu help me now?

Please advise! I'm quite lost but I want to do everything possible!

Thankx a lot man!!

Hi Fujitsu_01,
My purchase date was Sept 05 and I was served by Amy herself! she told me that there was nothing she could do. Only if there were 3 DPixels or if it was in the centre could she do anything for me.

So is there anything I can do about my screen at this point in time? It took me 3 weeks to get over the Dead pixel. I felt damn suay! now I feel even worse!!

Hi avault1810,

Ok, ur purchase date was on Sept 05 but when did u discover the dead pixiel? Over a week? or less than a week? During that time, did you actually bring ur machine back to 8flags within 7 days and look for the fujitsu engineer there? When every customers purchase lappys from 8flags, upon of collection, the 8flags will definately remind those customers that within 7 DAYS if spotted dead pixiel, you can do for the 1 to 1 DOA back at 8flags, u must bring ur box, accessories and make sure ur unit has no scratches.. This is our fujitsu policy of DOA, for other issues of ram faulty etc, NO we will not DOA for them, i have met alot of students/staffs back at NTU who understand the policy but came back demanding to DOA for some certain of small issues..Typical people eh? So, i hope avault1810 plz proceed to 8flags and tell ur situation to the fujitsu engineer there, he the 1 who handle the DOA, plz do not go directly to AP as you bought ur machine through 8flags tender.

Hi zoey_7

For your case, it maybe due to hardware issue.Did it prompt some files cannot be read during the copying of windows? I suggest u to bring down to AP and let them do the job for you..Please do remember to bring ur invoice too!

Hi namiac

Yes you can, bring to AP for reloading of ur OS and that will bring back the software, if ur from any sch like NTU,NUS or SMU please proceed to the fujitsu engineer station at there to reload school image for you.

Reformatting laptop

Hi Fujitsu 01, thanks for yr advice. The error message that appears is that there is some CRC mismatch or something like that.

If my original laptop had a working floppy disk drive, but now it's faulty (since sometime ago, i didnt bother to change it), would the product recovery be halted because of the not working A: drive. ?

Is it safe to try to use Win XP CD at this stage instead of the original Fujitsu product recovery disk? Would it spoil the computer?

Hi Fujitsu_01,
I discovered the dead pixel on the spot. Like 8 Flags instruction - for their security reasons - I opened my box just outside their shop, and then i spotted the dead pixel. I immediately informed Amy, and she came out to inspect it with me. This was when she told me she could not do anything about it. Unless the single dead pixel was around the centre or there were 3 dead pixels.

She said that Fujitsu's policy is more than that but if there were 3 she can 'push' to get it exchanged.

In view of this what am I supposed to do? Besides I dont want to replace my whole laptop, all my data is inside (Plus I have like 3 little scratches on my cover) Is it possible to have just the screen replaced?

Thanks,
David

Hi avault1810,

In this case, i suggest you bring to 8flags together with ur invoice, talk to the fujitsu engineer there and tell him what happen, Maybe he can change the LCD for you but i cant promise you that he will definately change..

Hi zoey_7

No, the product recovery will not be stop, you can still use it as usual. As for using recovery CD or not, it dosent really matter but lemme stress that if u use another winXP cd, prepare to download drivers through our fujitsu website.Still i advise u to bring down ur lappy to our AP to repair.

Hi summer_non,

How bad is ur OS? Unable to boot up? Using a recovery CD dosent actually save ur data inside, i suggest take out ur HDD, put it into a external HDD casing and read it with other desktop or laptop den save/backup ur data before doing any reloading of OS.
