Hello,

I plan to buy Fujitsu P7010 but concerns regarding the USB problems that happens on several member of leog.net. Does anyone have opinion on this thing?

I am also considering S6240 as alternative in case P7010 do have problems on their USB.
Does anyone have a review on this S6240?

The warranty of Fujitsu usually for 1 year. This is international warranty of regional only?

Lastly, why Fujitsu priced its notebook much higher in South East Asia than in US?

Thanks,

AlexO.
Fujitsu P2040

Hello AlexO,
P7010 do not have any issues with the USB ports nor i have encounter any customers complaning about this problem in singapore.. For other country wise, i have no comments..S6240 is a good model and if you prefer something small like and portable.. P7010 is good for you but specs wise,of course P7010 lose to S6240. Okay, for centrino and new models is 3yrs warrantly and 1 yr international warrantly.. for old models, yes some of dem are just only 1yr of warrantly..Price wise, im sorry to say that i dont have any information in that..

Good evening bh0322, for fingerprint is only for folders, files and logon screen.Hotmail and yahoo mail dont support any fingerprint authentication software.
It can also be use for yahoo mail and hotmail, in fact, most website, application with password, you can use it. Just look in your bottom right hand corner for the "key logo" and choose remember password, then your cursor will change to a key and you can click your cursor on the password box on your website and you are done.;)

Hi andromeda2000, Thanks for your helping out!! ;) Yeah, i tried personally, whenever it go to any site that have password authentication, the omnipass will pop a small window at the taskbar saying "Password diagloue detected" After that, right click, click on the "Remember password" then it will appear as a key. Move it to the bar where u type ur password, after that it will prompt you some options. But pls remember to key in your password before you actually use the omnipass system..Thanks again andromeda2000~

Hi Fujitsu_01,

I have recently just reformat my LifeBook S6240 with my Recovery CD. After the reformat, I install all of the Drivers provided in the Drivers CD.

Everything was fine but when i go to the Contol Panel to view all of the installed Softwares/Drivers, the "ALPS Touch Pad Driver" and the "02Micro MemoryCardBus Windows Driver" is Missing!

As for the above mentioned "02 Micro MemoryCardBus Windows Driver", i have succesfully installed the "02Micro Flash MemoryCard Wiindows Driver"....i just can't find the "ALPS TouchPad Driver and the 02 Micro MemoryCardBus Windows Driver"...

And also, I have checked the drivers avail on the Fujitsu website but I still can't find it...

May i know where can i download the 2 drivers:

(ALPS Touch Pad Driver & 02Micro MemoryCardBus Windows Driver)???

Or do u know whats the proper steps of reformatting the OS and the steps of installing the individual drivers?

Thanks In Advance! :o

Regards,
Joey

Hi jason,

I suggest you to bring down to Asiapac at henderson road or Iserve at takashimaya.SLS has fujitsu retail shop there..But please do not bring to any of those computer shops that fix laptops, they are not train to dismantle any brand of laptops and eventually if any hardware issues, they have to bring down to us..So they might do something that you wouldnt know. For 3-4 beeps, it might be ram or keyboard..did you spill any water on the keyboard? If you spill any water on your keyboard, we have to do a thorough check and the water might drip to ur mainboard too.If im not wrong, you bought this model at 2001 roughly ard june, so this is OOW machine so be prepare to pay any hardware parts charges including the service charge aka labour fee..Yours is a very old model and if there really any parts to be change, it might take some time to get the stock..I suggest you buy a new laptop..I hope this info can help you alot..Have a nice day!

I believe the flickering is caused by software problems. MY S7021 also like that, went for 1 to 1 exchange, come back still the same. Den I updated drivers from intel and the problem disappeared. So problems with fujitsu drivers i think

Hi ngjunqi,
As fone say, it might be the driver, i would suggest u bring it to cop-op centre and just do a patch..Everyting will be okay already.NUS wouldnt DOA for you unless it a crucial hardware issue.

Hi Fujitsu_01,

yes i did installed the 2 drivers via the method that u have teach me but still the 2 drivers are MISSING when i go to the Control Panel to view them...

Actually, before i do the reformat, i wrote down all of the installed softwares / drivers that is shown inside the Control Panel...n the 2 above mentioned drivers should be shown inside the Control Panel but after so many times of installing the 2 drivers by the correct/proper way, it still didn't show up inside the Control Panel....

can u please advise?

Hi joey,

Even you run the 2 applications, you also cant detect the 2 drivers? How strange.. Hmmm.. So under the drvice manager, you still see the yellow question marks name under "Unknown devices"? or Yellow Excamation mark with the driver name? Or you didnt see anything at all?

Hi Fujitsu_01,

so sorry for the late reply...

no, there isn't any yellow question marks in the device manager....
i have checked all of them inside and none of them has any yellow question marks leh...

and under the mouse section, its written its working properly leh...
as for the 02 Micro MemoryCardBus Windows Driver, i don't know where to check it...

anyway, inside the device manager, no yellow question marks at all...
but inside the control panel should have show the 2 drivers...but don't have leh..

how? what am i going to do now??? :s11:

Hello Fujitsu_01,
May I know is Fujitsu having any promotions for the notebooks in the upcoming Sitex 2005 next month?
I was wondering when will Fujitsu be releasing new models of notebooks as I am not sure if I should buy it during the Sitex next month or wait till Jan 06.

Hi Fujitsu 01,

I been using S7020 since August, i notice a few problems:

1. It gets damn hot near the touch pad area - sometimes the fingerprint sensor gets really hot and it stops working, can't scroll can't do anything. Weird thing is it does not happen all the time hardware problem?

2. Screen flickers when running on battery. I also guessed a driver problem, any upcoming updates?

3.Battery lasts for 3hrs with minimal application running....why?

4. Audio jack does not detect a ear phone plug in unless i have the Realtek sound manger running, i dun like to keep it running, can it jus plug in and detect?

5. touch panel doesn't work if the process quicktouch.exe is run b4 FUJ02E3 (jus for information for those who disable the process and wants to run it again)
