It's only applicable to NOM flats under the scheme. Not existing BTOs la.

Some people lack critical thinking...

There are so many cheaper BTO flats, with loads of subsidies available...

But the young people all want to stay Bukit Merah, stay Kallang, stay Tanjung Rhu... must be near mrt, face the sea, or face MBS, everything must be swee... end up cannot get because costs millions then cry father cry mother why the government never sell them cheap cheap... :ROFLMAO:

WP have really raised their professional image and PSP have overtaken SDP in the public conciousness.

SDP don't seem to have much renewal or public engagement or media pressence. Till this day, they are still the CSJ kpkb party.

Dunno what Paul Tambyah still hanging around with them.
Until CSJ retires from politics, SDP has no hope. Going by the current trend, Singaporeans will consolidate around WP which will grow stronger. The other parties will soon go into oblivion.

That’s not true. Was Vincent not young? Was Vincent not talented?

Danny The Democracy Bear was not a CSJ creation.

The problem is attracting the right kind of young talented.
Vincent won't win much votes being a LGBT candidate in a conservative electorate. Can't pass the party to him.

Look at the candidates unveiled for SDP, all 50+ and some already contest so many times and failed. Nothing new, nothing refreshed.

Look at their website, look at their social media posts (so infrequently updated and always the same combative style that people don't like), look at their CEC. All the same old thing.

CSJ is not the problem, but he badly needs help and new ideas.

the history and core of SDP is tainted... as long as CSJ is there, people wont take it seriously one

other than PSP and WP, the rest of the parties are just not credible enough.

PSP i think still got a bit chance cuz got TCB. and he set up the stage for Hazel poa and LMK to lead... but the two of them also need to start to find the quality next generation.
Hazel Poa not too old yet, 55 years old but honestly you can tell that TCB is serious about the future succession plans.

The fact that his CEC includes people in their 40s/30s already speak volume.

PSP actually got quite a few young candidates running in the GE 2020 last time round, think this cycle also got some young candidates in their slate.

TCB still generally healthy, just hope he can stay for a few years or so to make sure everything in place before he hand over to Hazel Poa/LMW to groom the future successor.

Of course, but you must remember … he wasn’t ghey until Vivian outed him as ghey. Up till then, who knew or who cared?

so HDB giving out grants are not fleeching the govt and taxpayers?

That's called wealth redistribution to help the poor. Only the lower income group gets the grants. The higher income group gets less or no grants. Wealth redistribution is to help the poor.

Haish... I need to explain this over and over again it seemed...

SINGAPORE - Selling new HDB flats for $90,000 to $270,000, making maternal and paediatric care mostly free, reducing GST to 7 per cent, and removing the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).

These are some proposals put forth by the Singapore Democratic Party on April 20 as it unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming polls on May 3.

SDP argues this will make homes cheaper because the cost of an HDB flat will only include the cost of construction and administration.

It said HDB flats with 99-year leases will be built on land specially zoned for public housing and not contain a land cost component. This is unlike the current HDB practice of including the cost of land in public housing.

SDP said it believes the NOM scheme can offer 2-room flats at around $90,000; 3-room at $120,000; 4-room units at $200,000; and 5-room apartments at $270,000.

It added that studio apartments with 30-year leases can be sold for around $40,000.

Siao bo 90% homeowners will be furious
10% can go vote for SDP lol
Rest assured singaporeans are selfish one lot.

i rather they propose that HDB resale market is banned

all HDB flats can only resell back to HDB
The incumbent would have to pay a heavy political price for doing that although it helps with the affordability over the long term
