If an order's bid is higher than $2.7 and ask is lower than $2.7, these are all already consolidated within the $2.7 quantities (i.e. 59,800 and 417,900).

In your example, if no more orders come in, 59,800 shares will be be matched at $2.7.

Good to know. Thanks!

Thanks for your response. The auction price was $2.70 when lunch break ended.

My understanding is that during auction, if Bid = Ask, $2.70 in our example, then that will be the auction price. Otherwise, there will be no auction price as the prices do not match.

Previously, I (incorrectly) thought that the auction is done blind-folded. However, since market depth is still updated during auction, everyone can already estimate if there will be a price match and what price it will be...
Market close at 5pm, there is still changes in the market depth but nothing to do with us. Same as market pre-opening, we can only set order but only after market open then it's will execute the order. Actually this part is easier to understand.
Take note: market depth and be fake, order can cancel any time.

Agreed. I think only the top of the order book, ie. highest bid and lowest ask (or maybe only the first few orders at those prices) can be believed. Other orders can be placed there to mislead us into thinking the market may move in a particular direction. Playing psychology. Only big players have the ability to do that.

This morning market pre- open, I bid $3.38, when the opening is very near, price sudden drop. Quickly withdraw order, and bid at $3.36. Opening 3mins I got it :giggle: AEM

Grats to those who double-dip buy last Friday or early Monday while people are panic selling :D

While it did not recover back to previous highs, but I am sure most people wouldn't believe that the market is green now.
