If you haven't already done it, a little RDT does wonders for static. It's almost a must for hand grinders I feel.

Ross Droplet Technique?

Got my ROK as well and the static is a little bit of turn off.

imo ROK is quite consistent. will take some macro shot soon...

what is the best way to pour grinds onto ur portafilter without a mess?

love my death wish coffee.

Strong coffee, dark, rich, bold with hint of chocolate smell and a slight bitter taste

yummy, but it cost me $40 per pound to bring it here

may want to consider getting the blind tumbler from hg one. i find its very clean and convenient. but its quite expensive for what it is. will probably last forever though.

http://hg-one.com/product/blind-tumbler-2014/

if not can get one of orphan espresso's portafilter funnels. can grind directly to your portafilter if you can diy a cradle to hold the portafilter.

i use a perfume atomizer for rdt. can get from make up stores.

another tip. you may want to stir the grounds a bit in the cup before transfering. if you notice the grounds in the centre is generally coarser than the grounds at at the sides of the cup (i could be mistaken and its the other way round). So stirring the grounds will make sure you have a even mix of particles sizes. The coarser particles fall more readily in the centre compared to the finer particles.

you can try to grind very coarse (french press) and you'll see what i mean.

enjoy your new purchase!

I was looking at the order map for hg-one. There's only 3 marked in sg, so I was wondering, have all 3(me, Lazy_Tiger and chikyblink) of us coincidentally posted on this thread or are the number of markings outdated? :look: :s42:

Such information are base on real time information connected to their database.

So yeah, think most likely it's only 3 who bought. haha

Big coffee drinking countries like Brazil only 3 users,Finland 4 Norway 9, Denmark 6,Austria 4.
Italians who drink mostly plain espressos, 5.

I think majority still stick to electronic grinders.

Nespresso can last a super long time because the harshest part of the extraction is done on disposable capsules.

I broke mine when i was using compatibles nespresso capsules as they will warp.

Now i'm no longer using those machines though

Any recommendation for local roasters? Looking for darker blend/singles with more chocolaty flavour. Tried Lam Yeo's Brazillian bourban and its pretty good!

Got some Ethiopian Amaro Gayo from another roaster to try out, not my type of beans...

mind giving short review to the acaia scale?
I'm keen on getting the lunar version but its really expensive.

i think acaia is the way to go esp for pourover because of the flowrate data. really not easy to have cup to cup consistency in flow rate without any measurement.

I am keen on the lunar version for my espresso machine but since I have the perl already it is hard to get approval from my finance minister. well unless I can sell this... XD

I am not used to doing reviews but can provide the following information on this expensive toy:

1. it has a great response time, you do not see any lag when pouring or weighing. the response time is on par with mettler Toledo scales I used during work

2. its virtually spill prove but not entirely, USB connector at the rear of the unit for charging is an entry point for water to destroy the toy.

3. there are a few display modes, including a timer / weight display function which allows you to use and time your pour without going through your phone or tablet's app. useful standalone feature during morning rush.

4. the battery lasts forever. been using since fully charging it, currently about 3 months and still no sign of asking me to charge. you can see battery % in the app when connected to the scale.

5. the perl version is too big to fit under my espresso machine, - that's where the lunar comes in.

its just fun to use :) btw I use it for weighing cooking or baking ingredients too.
