But i regret abit when i saw the timemore 078s
you order niche zero or niche duo?
Niche Zero bro. I mean its a massive upgrade in terms of workflow and ease of use. Might sell it after using for a few months and get the timemore but see how ah. I upgraded from eureka to niche zero btw. Cant believe people are saying eureka has low retention, the entire declumper is clogged with grounds every time LOL.
Oh.. the timemore 078s using flat burrs. target more on espresso grind.
the niche zero is using conical burrs. i feel its more like jack of all but master of none.
But if compare niche duo vs timemore 078s, timemore win hands down on specs.
personal feel is really depend what your workflow of coffee is like.
Mainly espresso / latte or u do all sort like pourover etc? how many cup you do at a time? i not use any flat burrs before, i did google abit before i bought my niche zero.. flat burrs are more consistent but heat up quickly.
as my wife do sometime like to have pourover.. thus
btw niche zero also doesnt means zero retention.. haha... but confirm wont be as much as eureka i believe.
Or best u cankeep the niche for multi use and get another timemore 078s for espresso / latte.
LOL.. think my Old tigress at home will kill me if i get another grinder just for espresso.

Edit: Now I have to look for a grinder since it's whole beans...any recommendations for doing filter coffee (currently using Hario One Cup).

Not knowing your budget would be hard to recommend one.
But if you want handgrind, look at the timemore lineup, particularly the K-max. Thats a USD 200 for just a handgrinder, no **** its expensive. But in this hobby, what i learnt is that either you got the experience and get a slightly more budget less beginner-friendly option or throw more money.
To be honest, i cannot taste the difference between flat and conical burrs. But at the same eureka is tremendously hard to dial in cause the retention is too high. I rotate the adjustment knob and purge the beans, my shot time is still the same. I need to play with dosage, yield and even temperature. With the niche, every adjustment is a direct impact on shot time and taste.
The zero retention is fake la there is always some but the exchange is very little like only 0.1 to 0.3. So everytime you grind you almost get fresh grounds and not from the previous grind.
Total Retention: All grinds are removed, weighed and come from entire "grind path" of a grinder after it has ground at least 2 or 3 double shots of coffee and dose consistency normalises.
Dose Consistency: Is the weight of coffee in vs. the weight of coffee out. Ideally, you want this to be as close to identical as possible e.g 20g beans in = 20g ground coffee out, every time you grind
Exchange: You might put 20g into a grinder and get 20g out….but what weight of that output is stale coffee from the previous grind?
PS: Eureka is modded with angled based and single dose bellows
