Context matters, I get it now.Am deciding whether to buy now (and stock up) or to wait till I finish my backlog of beans.. And to hold off for a later roasting date!
hmm thanks. I thought eureka would have a lid to stop the beans for popcorning. I using a grinder from Taobao which got this. so I wonder if I sold upgrade my machine or the grinder.I got a Eureka Manuale before which is basically the same as specialita without the bells and whistles. First of all, if you are using it as a single dose grinder i suggest you just get the DF64 that is built for that. Eureka by itself is a on-demand grinder which requires the hopper to be at least 1/3 full to get pressure exerted on the beans. This ensures grind uniformity and consistency. However, it was sometime later some users found that it worked surprisingly well for single-dose usage with some modding (Angled Based + Bellow + remove declumper).
If i were you i will hold it until timemore releases their 078s. Else just get DF64 then mod a bit to fix the declumper (not sure if its still a problem)
Im not familiar with hand grinder.. i guess the othgr folks had share some info.. I also might get a hand grinder for traveling used.Hand grinder. As budget as possible since it’s not for espresso.
go Google how to descale it.
Thats me as well! I bought 500g to check it out, was looking Tiong Hoe coffees also since they are so near to where i work. Can save a few bucks why not?
lol, I used to buy margo & mokacrema, the 2 extreme ends of dark roast & light roast.
Never noticed the balanced ROMA till it gets sold out and mentioned here so often...
I will grab a bag next order.i tried margo and mokacrema and roma.. still prefer roma..
Up to individual taste ..
I only drink latte.. So my usual is 1:2:4May i ask you guys to share your receipt for Roma? Is it the normal 1:2 ratio? or you guys did a 1:5 as recommended by FCC
i usually freeze my beans if i got too much and cant finish in a weeks time.Am deciding whether to buy now (and stock up) or to wait till I finish my backlog of beans.. And to hold off for a later roasting date!

just defrost a day before you make your espresso
Please dont... breville thermojet isnt built to last and temperature stability is bad. Good for lattes if you dont care about the taste of your espresso. Very beginner friendly with fast start up and auto steam wand.Anytime use bambino plus?
Considering this to rancilio v6
Any thoughts

Rancilio on the other hand is built to last but most of the convenience features of the bambino are just thrown out of the window. There is no temperature control so you gonna need to learn how to temperature surfing. If i may, can i recommend you the Profitec Go instead? Reputable brand, temperature PID installed and big enough boiler.
You can get it espressocoffeeshop.com its a trustworthy shop in Italy. There will be no local warranty and it carries a shipping risk. But i know of many including myself who purchase much more expensive machines and had no problem. To be frank, the biggest worry is the Dead on arrival (DOA) situation. As for reparability goes, most machines won't give you trouble for the first few years thus the warranty is really not something to be worried about. After all, the best machine is the ones you care for and do your own timely maintenance.Looks good. May I know if you are using it. And where to buy. Hmm
thanks. I did consider Anna previously too. it looks nice and simple. I tot I lower my budget to get a sleek Breville else Silvia. But now have to spend 1k (775 EUR) if I want to get ProfitecGo - the blue dial looks nice. You can get it espressocoffeeshop.com its a trustworthy shop in Italy. If thats a no-go for you, i would then recommend Lelit Anna 2 from cowpressocoffee(Singpaore). Their pricing as a distributor is very fair and probably one of the lowest profit margin i have ever seen. The rest of the local distributor charges ridiculous markup that i rather import myself. Bummer is that it has a non standard 57mm portafilter but with a price of $999 ($200 more than Gaggia Classic and $100 less than Silvia) its really no horse run.
Silvia vs Anna 2
58mm vs 57mm
No pressure gauge for OPV adjustment vs Got
No PID vs PID
But mind that whatever "Savings" you got from the Anna 2 will be lost from non-standard size accessories should you upgrade in the future.
