The drop is just back to pre COVID pricing.

I was eyeing bezzera magical pid or ecm for a long time. Bezzera price was more competitive.

During covid, many people buy machine and out of stock, then they hiked the price, end up not so competitive anymore.

In the end, I bought another machine, directly from Italy. Got risk, but also saved a lot. Was ok to take the risk as these machines are super easy to repair.

The markup locally is quite insane. I saved almost 50% on my new machine when imported myself. You want to earn 10% to 20% and provide warranty and support works, cannot hiam la since shipping so expensive and incur a risk of transport damage.

A story from a local distro, i was calling to ask for a quotation since i think its a buy-on-demand model. Within few minutes my quotation jump 3 times. Worst of all when i quote another local business, he tried to nego some more. Wanna do business we do, give me a solid pricing lor. From this, i got the impression that their warranty claim also hao siao one la.

I fixed my own machine...new machine slow to build pressure and release pressure, found kinked hose.

Never heard of the SD64, sounds like a knockoff

Honestly, specs mean nothing for a home espresso grinder if it has no easy workflow. (ie: Lots of fines flying around, Cannot hold portafilter, does it requires me to mod?)

Zero retention advertisement nowadays is nothing new, it just means grind 20g and give 20g. Doesn't tell you anything about exchange grounds.

Just look up google or youtube for more information about the workflow

so is now between a Philip EP1220 vs a Nespresso machine. In term of maintenance(running parts to clean and etc) and running cost(ie capsule vs beans) , which one is making more sense?

Beans is of course cheaper in the long run.
Automatic machines can't clean well and they eventually spoilt from chokes, the stale remains mess up your coffee. It's not really an advantage.
