recommendation for espresso grinder pls; and where to buy from?
1. specialita?
2. sette 270?
3. baratza vario?

I have an Eureka Atom, very competent, except when the column of beans gets diminished the reduced downward pressure of the beans will start to affect the last 2-3 grinds ..

I also have a Niche Duo shipped from Uk.. for occassional smaller speciality bean batches and also for my drip, otherwise the Eureka is still my staple.

also as my Breville portal filter is 54 mm any workflow issue using other grinders that usually only supports 58 mm portafilter ?

1) Eureka Mignon Zero is a flat burr, Niche Zero is a conical burr, there are some grind modal differences that may or may not translate to taste difference, and some might even claim flats are better for pourovers, conicals better for espresso, or that one has better clarity over body for espresso .. Never tried either so no comments, but I dun think coffee will end up drastically different , and probably ultimately down to price and aesthetics.

2) 54 mm portafilter usually have taller basket to hold the same dose of grinds vs 58mm. *Might* have to grind coarser than a comparatively thinner bed 58mm if all else equal.

Hi guys, I got my Lelit Mara X delivered yesterday evening and I was wondering if there are other members who have the same machine? The cheapo Biolomix grinder that I have does not seem to cut it for this machine. The grind size seems a tad coarse even at the "finest" setting. I pulled a 30 ml shot at 20~22 seconds this morning. For some reasons, I am unable to insert a photo of my setup in this post, so this will have to do for now.

What I like about the Mara X:

1. Cheaper than the Rocket Appartamento.
2. Stainless steel boiler. Many machines are using the brass type if I read correctly.
3. 3 PID settings for different roasts.
4. Steam Mode or Coffee Mode. I thought that I should switch modes if I was using the Steam function, but apparently, this is not advisable.
5. Relatively quieter pump.
6. Fits my budget and space on the counter top.
7. I thought that it was a E61 Grouphead but officially, it is the L58E.

Im running Breville duo boiler with Niche Zero. Loving it every morning.
cant comment as i didnt use eureka before.

I know that the cup that come with niche zero fit the 58mm, if you using 54mm, just need to find a cup to hold the grind which can easily transfer to your 54mm portal filter.

Tks for replying , think I will be getting a bambino plus and a DF 64 grinder over the eureka because saw online that eureka got small knob and need to dial or beans getting stuck when changing different type of beans.

Will be getting on Shopee/ Lazada plus some accessories like the. Bottomless portafilter , WDT

Hihi, may I ask if you bought the DF64 Grinder? I am in the midst of my research on grinders and I am consider the DF64/54 and Baratza Sette 30. Seems like the DF 64 is punching above its weight as compared to similar 64mm flat burr type of grinders. But then again..I am also skeptical about the reliability and consistency of their grinders after a period of time.

I was recommended the Lagom Mini Grinder by Nylon last week too..Seems like these grinders are mainly made in China these days.

I got my Timemore Sculptor 064S today! After reading and watching various reviews, I shortlisted the DF64 Gen2, DF64P, Niche Zero, Sculptor 064S and 078S. After watching the reviews:

I decided to go for the 064S at the end of the day.

The Gen 2 is not available ex-stock for now, I wasn't confident of the DF 64P, Niche Zero works out to $890 (before GST) and I felt that it was probably diminishing returns for the 078S.
