With almost 20% increase in water price + gst.
Kopi going to hit min $2, latte min $8 soon.

I think my espresso machine is the only appliances that saved me money over the long run, even more in the future.
Those considering, better buy ASAP. :s13:

My Bezzera Strega is about 8 years old.
Probably due for some servicing though it's still working well.

Yes, I think i will just sell away and get a new machine, someone offered $1700 for my machine, waiting for another guy to confirm if there's a higher offer.

Getting either the Bezzera Crema or Aria
That's an amazing offer.

Really good deal for a solid machine, get from Italy direct also not so cheap.

Going to tell those freeloaders who are always coming at my house to drink coffee to get their own. :s13:

It's not hard to use and clean at all. The only part you need to learn is to tune the grinder for the first time. If the coffee is too coarse, the flow rate is too fast. Very simple common sense.

I went to the showroom and the guy showed me how to use in half an hour. Even my maid and 98 years old grandpa knows how to use.

It's easier to make an espresso than to cook an egg.

Switch on coffee machine
Measure 18g of coffee and grind it all out.
Press the powder to compact it abit.
Start extraction and count 20 to 25 seconds.

I don't do funny stuffs like distribution, use whatever funny tools.
Very rarely have extraction issues and my extraction flow rate is usually just nice.

No need to go for barista course, they teach a lot of useless stuff to make it very complicated.
Some showrooms will teach you the basics and that shoud be more than enough. If they help u tune your grinder, even better. :o

Cant comment on others, I only have experience on the baratza sette 270 before upgrade to niche zero.

The reason for upgrade
- My workflow is usually single dose.. so i dont like the hopper style and its kind of taking up extra space on my setup. I dont leave my bean in the hopper..
- To me its a bit of hard to find the correct dialing sometime. (maybe just me)
- dialing in on different grind setting, all the shots regardless of time tasted more or less the same (maybe just me)
- itchy backside :D

Comparision after i bought the niche zero
- The grind on niche is much fluffier with way less clumping
- sette is pretty loud vs niche ( It make alot of diff when your wife is sleeping and you trying to have a good cup of coffee)
- In my experience using the same recipe the Niche Zero's shots were fuller and less bitter/harsh than the Sette 270. In direct comparison, the Sette's shots tasted one dimensional.
- When dialing in the Niche Zero, its obvious when a shot was over or under extracted. Huge difference in flavor with the Niche Zero.

personal feel is that the Sette 270 is a more forgiving grinder that will deliver a more than adequately good shot without much trouble. The Niche Zero is less forgiving, however if you nail your recipe, you are in for something.

The Baratza Sette 270 is a fantastic grinder for the price. But if you could up your budget, i think niche is a better grinder.

I think i use to bought my sette from PPP coffee.

thanks. think i settle for specialita from espresso coffee shop as it is the cheapest compared to getting niche or sette locally.
