Hey guys,

Looking for a spare pair of IEMs while my JH13s are being reshelled.

Budget less than $200.

Are the best ones still GR07BE and TDKBA200?

Also looking for another pair for my brother around $300.. Prefers bassy sounds.. Any recommendations?

How about audio technica IM01? i think i saw it was on promotion.

for your brother, how about vmoda? i heard it, was awesome! :D

Hi Stereo,

I know this is a headphone recommendations thread, but I need a dac/amp setup recommendation instead.
Have a HD600, wanna run off my desktop so USB input. Need to toggle between speaker output and headphone output. Please advise!
Preferably a compact or small footprint setup with minimal front facing (visible) wiring.

RANT on previous dac purchase from that next door store.
Previously got an audinst hud mx-2 from AVOne, but it was faulty. Connected and didn't turn on. Sent for RMA four times and still the same problem. Ask them to explain the problem and their reply is "technician not around, if problem persists, please send it in again." Bought this about 4 months ago, 3 months spent in RMA.

Take a look at the Sennheiser sports series models. Under $100 and quite decent sound quality.

Hi

You can look at the IFI iDSD micro, a compact USB DAC and headphone amplifier that has plenty of power to drive the HD600 and make them sing!, it also supports RCA output for connection to other audio device like speaker.

However the iDSD micro doesn’t have an output switch, this means the RCA and headphone output are active all the time, if both speaker (via iDSD RCA output) and headphones (via iDSD headphone out) are connected, you would have to turn down the volume or switch off the speakers if you wanted to listen to headphones, But if you are wiling to overlook that it doesn’t have an output switch, The iDSD micro has much to offer.

The iDSD features a high quality USB input and will handle any audio file format currently available natively with it’s dual core Burr Brown DAC, A headphone amplifier that is able to drive the most sensitive IEM to the hardest to drive headphones, It is also compact and most input and output wire are facing behind except for the headphone out, and since the iDSD micro is USB powered/ charged means no extra wall power needed.

There are numerous other features on the iDSD micro and although they are currently out of stock due to high demand, we would like to invite you to audition the demo units at either Stereo Orchard ION or Stereo Plaza Singapura as they are estimated to be back in stock by December.

If you have anymore questions do not hesitate to ask !:D

Hope to see you soon !:s12:
