Hi OCBC

OCBC rejected my appeal to waive my credit card late charges + interest.

I have been paying my bills diligently every month, using the hardcopy statement as a reminder. It happened that the bill did not reach me last month. Hence, I missed the due date by a few days.

I submitted an appeal thru phone, and was informed that my appeal was unsuccessful 5 days later. When asked for the reason, the staff refused to explain further.

I have parked most of my assets with OCBC, paid my bills diligently all this while, but yet this is not sufficient for the charges to be waived.

Would you be able to assist me with this please?

Hi, OCBC.

I currently have a Monthly Savings Account (flexible) with OCBC. Is it possible to change the monthly savings contribution to this account?

Thanks in advance.

Hello from me, hello to team ocbc.

Have had stressful experience opening a 360 account. Had to make repeated visits to the branch to sort things out.

1st visit, to open the account and apply Frank CC at the same time.

2nd visit, ask them to link my Frank CC to my 360 account. Got my PIN and tried using it on ATM, it says invalid account.

3rd visit, ask them what's wrong, so they helped to link myself using ATM and managed to withdraw $50 from ATM. But funny thing is, system showed that I did not have PIN, but in fact I got my PIN already and changed the PIN.
After a while I tried to withdraw again, but it says incorrect PIN and then my card got blocked!!! Went home and check my mailbox, apparently OCBC decided to change my PIN without me requesting for it. There was even no letter to notify me beforehand that my PIN was going to be changed.
I think it was because the system showed that I did not have PIN yet. So either the counter lady being too helpful and decided to send me a new PIN or the system automatically did so.

So 4th visit, told them my card got blocked, exceeded the number of tries. They said they'd send me a new PIN, and had to wait for 5 days. This time, a letter was sent to me after a few days to notify me of the PIN change.
But ... more than a week has gone, and I still haven't got my PIN.

Going for my 5th visit later .... T_T

Strongest bank but not so strong system huh ...

Hi vincent007

That whole event really sounded very inconvenient, and we're sorry to hear about it.

There could have been an overlap of requests, within those few days that you first got the card & your subsequent visits.

Are you now able to use the card without any hiccups? Do let us know if you're still facing issues, and we'll try to sort it out

Hi ocbc team,

I've just completed my 3 years msa.

Now it's converted to statement saving accounts. Just wondering how much interest it would earn? As compared to normal saving accounts.

Do I have to go down to the bank to close the accounts or can I just transfer it to my main ocbc saving accounts.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi there!

It's pretty much earning normal interest rates for savings accounts. You can have a look at the rates here: product-rates

You can choose to either hold the account or close it. To close it, just visit any of our branches with your NRIC.

If you want to hold on to it, do bear in mind that the statement savings account comes with a monthly fee of $2.

Shereen, you are so smart. I am using touchpal. Just tried disabling touchpal and enabling original and it works fine. Can you inform your tech team on this and get them to resolve this bug. Cheers!

Our team did several tests using the touchpal, and the keypad seems to be working fine with our Mobile Apps.

There could be compatibility issue with your touchpal installed. You can try removing the app & downloading it again. Otherwise you might need to login through mobile web

Hi OCBC,

I have recently applied for FRANK card, as there is a promotion for trades under Young Investor Programme.

FRANK by OCBC - Interested in investing, but not sure where to start?

It stated that there is a $15 commission instead of $25 if I link my GIRO with my securities account.

However recently bought a share, the charges was still $25.
May I know whats going on and solution to this problem?:)

Thanks.

Hi

We'll need to look into your accounts to check. Feel free to call our hotline, or leave us a PM with your contact details

Yes, it's exactly the same. There's no different set of IDs & passwords for mobile banking

2) if yes for Q1 .. does it count as as bill payment for ocbc 360 account?

Thanks.

Hi,

I was in the same situation several months back, this is what I did.

I used OCBC Cashflo to pay NTUC Income Living Insurance via Internet Banking -- but that was before Sep 1st. I heard that after Sep 1st, no more rebates using the Cashflo CC via internet banking bill payments.

I didn't bother to check if i get that less than 1% rebate cos my main thing was to have it paid in installments this way.

Given up on OCBC

Hi OCBC,

Seriously given up on you when I tried twice to submit application for OCBC 360 account.

First submission: Submit application online (without credit card application), subsequently mailed in my telephone bill which reflect my particulars. Received a letterhead next day telling me that my application was rejected due to incomplete form submission without giving much information.

So I thought what went wrong during the process and was informed by the CSO that the letter should indicate what is exact error but obviously not written, thus he had to forward to another dept to find out more. Received another call the following week and told me that the rejection was due to I did not submit my CPF statement (WTF?). I politely told the CSO that I did not apply for credit card and the instructions on the received email notification implied that I could submit one of the 3 options for verification (which telephone bill is one of them).

So the CSO went to check again and was informed that they have received my earlier mailed telephone bill and I just need to apply online again as I do not have the luxury of time to go down to any branch to sign up. (no need for resubmission of telephone bill).

Second submission: So I went through the process again and submit online. Guess what? I was rejected again without any specific reason in the letterhead.

Thanks OCBC for wasting my few days of effort, really appreciated.

Hi, cherry,
Thanks for the info.
The rebate was not a concern as i do not have the cashflo CC... Just intend to pay thru CC to fulfill my credit bill payment for the 360 account.
But then, seems like the ocbc team does not bother to reply this thread:s11:

Ok, I believe for OCBC 360 Bank Account: If you are using OCBC CC, it will count towards the $400 per month CC Spend criteria.

As for the Bill payment criteria : as long as the bill is paid for in IB via your 360 Account, it will be counted no matter if its OCBC CC or other Bank CCs or other Bill payments-- ie: Mobile phone bill etc

That's my current understanding according to their website:

** Pay Any Bill and Pay Any Card services or GIRO.

http://www.ocbc.com.sg/personal-banking/accounts/360-account.html

The info is all there....

hi cherry,
Thanks for the info.
Yup, know about those criteria.
As payment for life insurance is usually not allowed thru CC, just wish to seek confirmation for it.
Anyway, kudos to OCBC for allowing life insurance to be pay by CC.
Think, i will just go ahead with the payment by CC.:D
Thank you again.;)
